There really is. The idea that usa isn't producing as many champions simply because athletes are choosing other sports is a thing of the past. Other nations are just catching up. Not saying usa wouldn't be producing a lot more talent if athletes didn't go to other sports...but they wouldn't just be walking over the guys that are out there now.Comment

absolutely no question i think thats the part thats understated when people talk about usa less success in recent olympics its not so much team usa getting worse as much as rest of the world has just caught up and even past us in a lot of ways. im emotionally invested in usa amateur boxing though i have always followed local cincinnati amateurs like raushee warren and such and have just followed usa amateur boxing in general. Its also pretty cool how brazil is having success this year. but ya im team usa all the way in international sports have no problem admitting im a i guess nationalist when it comes to international sports. Im invested in sport in general but i just want to see usa boxing get back to where its capable.
Its also good that so many olympians from other countries eastern europe, africa etc are finally getting a real push in the usa. Hopefully with the way that the sport is improving all over the world that boxing fans can finally get behind amateur boxing cause those of us who follow it or at very least watch during olympics know first hand those who dont are missing out. also maybe its just pbc but it seems like team usa boxers are finally also getting a real push when they turn pro. obviously some with better success then others but at least having that pedigree at least gives u a head start againLast edited by Cinci Champ; 08-14-2016, 12:49 PM.Comment
