Verdejo’s talents far exceed Rocky’s, no doubt. But he’s still very raw in many aspects. His defence isn’t tight enough. He gets over-zealous when he thinks he has someone hurt and is far too open for counters. And we’re yet to see how he’ll handle a big shot from someone who can ****.
Sure, Mikey’s been dropped and hurt by lesser hitters, but he’s shown the maturity to not only survive and recover, but gain control of the fight again like nothing even happened. He’s seasoned and his IQ is very impressive – more than what Verdejo’s shown at a similar age/stage.Comment

I agree, personally I look at Verdejo as the boricua version of Victor Ortiz...once he gets hit hard, he gets that questionable look on his face, just watch some of his fights...it's only a matter of time, but Mikey will murda the bum! Put Verdejo against Pedraza, and Verdejo gets stopped by Sniper too.Comment

agreed.I like Verdejo. Big fan and really want him to succeed. But Mikey is too polished for the kid. Verdejo won’t for a long time stand a chance against him. Not that the discussion matters much, because realistically speaking the two won’t even fight now that Mikey is with Al Haymon.
As for Mikey ducking out of boxing, he did so for promotional reasons. Not to duck any particular fighter. The guy was being lied to and short-changed.
verdejo doesn't need those garcia problems right now.Comment

I saw this article, but it was on the 29th, but now that the fight has been ordered, before they could agree, do you think they'll let him skip his mandatory anyway? It's one thing if the fight was signed, sealed, and delivered:
Representatives for lightweight world titleholders Terry Flanagan and Dejan Zlaticanin are deep in discussion to pair the fighters in a unification fight this fall, Lou DiBella, Zlaticanin's promoter, told ESPN.com on Thursday.
DiBella described his talks with Frank Warren, Flanagan's promoter, as "very substantive."
"I've had multiple conversations with Frank and with Showtime, which loves this fight for its 'Showtime International' series. They would love to take it (to air) from the U.K.," DiBella said, adding that they are looking to put on the fight in October. "If we get this deal done, the fight would take place over there. Flanagan is very popular in (his hometown) Manchester. We're getting close to a deal. We're definitely close."

By 2017 he should be ready to beat any champ at his weight class he is getting bigger and stronger with the days passing. I got Verdejo winning in a future fight. Lets see if he beats flanagan in a impressive way.Verdejo’s talents far exceed Rocky’s, no doubt. But he’s still very raw in many aspects. His defence isn’t tight enough.
