Didn't realize or even think about the women still having headgear. They should alter that. Weird that the mean don't have headgear & the women do.

mccormack and okolie were my outsider picks, but meeting cubans early is never nice. still, if they get past toledo and savon then all of a sudden they become favourites
I saw Lopez at the Cuban nationals, in December of last year, and he looked awful. You would think the other guy was THE guy not Lopez. However, Lopez has looked amazing in the WSB this year.
There is a way to beat him though.
I think Joyce has the best chance to take Gold on the men's side. I actually am favoring him to take it all. It's going to be difficult nonetheless.
I am not that high on Ali, but he has a good chance to medal here. He doesn't have easy fights, but it's not impossible for him to reach the semis.
Ali's height/size is a problem for all of the Flyweights.
McCormack is the most talented fighter for Great Britain in my opinion. He just has a tough road.
In order to reach the semis he has to go through Zhussupov, Toledo, then most likely, Sotomayor. I could see him winning all of those fights, but I could also see him losing. I think Sotomayor would be the easiest fight, so if he gets past Zhussupov and Toledo then good news.
McCormack may have the toughest draw regardless of weight classes. McCormack is always getting difficult draws. He's also in the toughest or second toughest division (only Lightweight may be tougher).
Okolie is not going to beat Savon. They already fought and Savon stopped him. Okolie has potential but too inexperienced for now. He would benefit from staying amateur a little longer.
Don't be surprised if some of the younger guys stay amateur a little longer.
Anthony Joshua was tempted to stay amateur until these Olympics. And Joshua probably knew there was going to be big money in the pros and even he was really thinking of staying longer. Not to mention that he already had a Gold medal. I expect several of the current GB members to think about staying amateur for a while. Some will stay for a year, others for two, and some may stay until the 2020 Olympics. Or some will just go pro.
GB treats their athletes well.

The Draws aren't as bad as in the past, but some of the draws still don't make sense.
Some fighters are seeded without accomplishing anything really. It's disrespectful to the fighters that have been putting in the work only to have to get a difficult draw while other fighters get easy draws and undeserved seedings.
