Jacob's trainer doesn't want GGG until fall '17
Sounds like team Jacobs has no intention of fighting GGG anytime soon. I really expect the WBA to mandate the fight on Sept 12 after they both have their next fights, otherwise Danny needs to vacate and stop pretending to be the interim title holder.

Andre Rozier wants Danny Jacobs to fight GGG in 2017

Andre Rozier wants his fighter, WBA secondary titleholder Danny Jacobs to fight unified middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin around the fall of 2017.
Jacobs camp has been mostly mum on the topic of fighting the Kazakhstan knockout artist aside from the occasional bluster from Brooklyn’s Jacobs. Of facing Golovkin, their stance has always been to let Jacobs, who is still just 29, build up his credentials and wait until the fight represents the biggest possible payday to take on such a risk. They point to the bout against Peter Quillin in December as a way in which this strategy worked to make the fight as lucrative as possible.
So Rozier’s words represent a slight departure from this approach. But the Brooklyn trainer says he wants Jacobs (31-1, 28 knockouts) to face Golovkin sooner than later so that when Jacobs does beat him there are no claims that Jacobs only beat an older fighter since Golovkin (35-0, 32 KOs) will be 35 if they fought next year.
“If Gennady doesn’t jump a weight class, Danny and Gennady. I’d like to see it in 2017,” Rozier told Ri ngtv.com. “Let it build a bit and then toward the fall of 2017, let them get it on. The last thing I want to happen is for people to say, if and when they fight and if Danny wins, that GGG lost a step because he is getting older. I don’t want that to be the case. I just want the fight to happen when they’re at their apex.”
There is talk of Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez fighting in the fall of 2017 so Rozier clearly doesn’t believe that fight will happen if he’s discussing Jacobs-Glolovkin for the same time. Rozier expects Jacobs speed and athleticism and ring intelligence to be too much for Golovkin, who is facing welterweight titleholder Kell Brook on Sept. 10 in London at 160 pounds.
“It’s something that GGG has never seen before,” Rozier said of Jacobs. “Danny can clip. He can punch. His punching power might not be that of a Curtis Stevens but it comes fast and you don’t see it when it gets you.”
