he's hiding in a dumpster from Lomachenko, as usual
Where the hell is Nicholas Walters?

I think this post sums it up. I hope he can either get out of his TR deal or begins to fight again because the sport is better with him in it.Originally posted by ИATASI think he's unhappy with his situation with Top Rank. I think it may end up being another Mikey Garcia case.
I had extremely high hopes for him as well, but for better or worse he's having issues with TR, we'll see how it plays out but I wouldn't say he's destroying his career just yet nor would I say he's being a diva (he doesn't think he's being treated fair, that in itself doesn't necessarily mean he's being a diva).
Top Rank/Bob Arum treat some of their fighters really good and others terrible. We've seen plenty examples of rhatz like Rigondeaux for example (Arum, his own promoter, talking **** about him being boring, I can't promote him, etc etc.). If Bob doesn't think you're marketable, he does a **** job.Comment

I wouldn't call it the donaire curse, because when he fought donaire, donaire didn't have that mistique behind him anymore. I call it the Haymon effect. Walters see's fighters making ridiculous amounts of money under Haymon and he wants the same. So he demands crazy money if he's going to fight a real threat like Lomo or crazy money for a bum.Where the hell is this guy? I'm starting to believe in the Donaire curse for real, Rigo's career went nowhere after he beat Donaire and same happened to Walters, I had a lot of expectations from Walters and I was totally on his side during the Lomachenko negotiations at 126 and later at 130.
According to rumors he was having problems with Bob Arum and TR and his contract was due last year I think, is this the conventional case of Arum shelving fighters that want to leave him claiming their contracts aren't really over? Does the robbery draw in his last fight have to do with that? We've seen Pacquiao get robbed against Bradley when his contract was going to run out in 2012 and he was thinking about leaving TR, we saw Cotto lose to Margarito with possible loaded wraps at the same situation.
Does anybody have any news/updates about the guy? It's a shame when these fighters get shelved like that at the pinnacle of their careers.
My problem with guys like Walters is he had no problem with his contract when he signed it. But now when other fighters make more money that's not reasonable he becomes difficult to make fights for.
He's a great fighter but he signed his contract and needs to man up and ride it out. If he's not happy just not resign and move after you fulfill your obligation. He needs to put blinders on stop reading other guys bank accounts and man up to what he signed.
If Haymon wasn't paying guys these unreasonable ridiculous amounts of money I guarantee walters wouldn't have put himself in such a huge money grap situation.Comment

Since when does your record reflect what you deserve in boxing? I hear all these guys all the time claiming that the name of the game is "prize fighting". If instead of that you thought like any other sport fan, you should know it should be the best against the best at their best.I understand that u r a fan of Lomachenko, but saying that Walters deserved a draw against Sosa is one of the most ignorant things I've ever read on this website.
So Walters, the guy that WON his coming out party against a known guy in Donaire, should accept a lower purse than the guy who LOST his coming out party against Salido, Salido is the guy that lost to almost all the great fighters he fought? OK
The guy that speaks English and Spanish, who has a more exciting style and KO power, who can actually give interesting interviews, shouldn't be backed as a star or at least get treated the same way a Euro guy who's absolutely not interesting outside of the ring with no Charisma whatsoever, that makes a lot of sense!
It was clear as day that TR and HBO were favoring Lomachenko and Walters felt like if the fight was close he was gonna get robbed.
Prize fighting logic dictates that the draw gets the big bucks. Walter's isn't a draw and was offer a more than decent payday and he ducked. Loma might not be a big draw either but he got a better deal because the promoter has more faith in him in the long run.
As long as the name of the game is "prize fighting" if you don't sell and you're given a reasonable offer and refuse it....you sir are a duck. I liked Walters a lot and made several threads about him, but if the guy is a duck, he is a duck. You can't cover the sky with your hands.Comment

Could be doing what Brandon Rios just did, maybe letting his contract run Out?
Extremely talented fighter, don't want to see him waste Prime Years away trying to get out of a Promotional Deal but if that is what is best for HIM then so be it
It is impossible to become a star in boxing when fighters just disappear and doesn't show up until they're getting ready to fight and expect casuals to have a ***ing clue who they areComment

I tune out 95% of the people that use the term "duck." Most are idiots. You're entitled to your opinion but I wouldn't call Walters' desire to be paid closer to what Lomo was getting a clear duck. After Arum shut him down and backed Lomo as the bigger star, Walters appeared to have let his pride get the better of him and probably burned some bridges at TR.Comment
