In these days when boxers average only two fights a year I'd say he is in the lead right now. If either Kovalev or Ward wins their November fight in grand style they will pass him by as fighter of the year. If by some miracle Brook beats GGG he will probably be the fighter of the year. The year has 5 months left before it's over.

What why would winner of ward kov get it? Kov I understand a little bit but ward gonna have one good win only in 2016 if he beats kov. His other two wins are ok and ****.

Frampton have a good chance. Depends on who he fight next. Crawford might have a good chance too if he gets the pac fight and best him.

Because Kovalev is a ****ing beast and if Ward beats him, it's the best win in 2016 and vice versa. The winner essentially will be recognized as #1 p4p in the sport. Sure, Brand sucks, but Sullivan Barrera is a decent enough opponent to compliment a massive win over Kovalev for the year. Likewise for Kovalev, Isaac Chilemba and Pascal II were decent wins, but beating Ward would be a massive win.
