    thats boxing 2016

as much as i like floyd as a fighter and his skills he showed you can make a lot of money by taking smart decisions like minimizing every possible risk for the most reward these new generation of fighters dont care about a real legacy when they can fabricate a lesser one with the work of their promoters and retire rich and healthy

Rigo would take his 0 his belt and set him back from any chance of being thought of as the best 122-126 and for not a lot of money

Floyd will be the last fighter to be the best of his era and make the most money of his era.

My main problem with Rigo and lara is they are so talented they don't have to run around like they do.if they cut their movement in half they would be more like pernell Whitaker. It's just hard to watch when the better fighter is running from a guy he should stop.

Floyd was a bloody genius at marketing himself - IMO, without a doubt the best example of self-marketing of all time.

You have a guy who has a style that is the antithesis of "exciting" - in the sense of selling fights to the masses... Yet he became by far the biggest box office draw in sports.

He knew he had to market himself as a bad guy, so people would pay to see him LOSE, rather than to see him win - or just to see him fight - the way people would pay money to see Hagler, Duran, Leonard, or Tyson just fight, win or lose.

I don't think Floyd was the "fan favorite" ONCE in his career - after he took on his "money" persona... Despite the fact he fought all his fights in his adopted hometown of over twenty years.

122 lb Rigo wanted to fight 118 lb Santa Cruz but Rigo didn't fight 126 lb Nicholas Walters in what woulda been a dream super fight. Rigo can't expect others to take chances if he's not willing to do the same. FOH!

So why not do the same for Frampton?
But I thought he said he didn't want to move up to 126?
Hmm...interesting that he would move up for Santa Cruz doe.

By the way, I already knew he said he'll go up for Santa Cruz.
I just wanted to point out how he said he wouldn't go to 126 in the past.
He won't go 126 except for Santa Cruz and Frampton it seems like.
