He didn't say that's when they wanted it. He said that he thinks it would happen within a year/year and half, because Golovkin has nobody to fight. He's being optimistic though we've seen Golovkin is willing to make garbage fights.

The same applies to Lara: Rodriguez and Zaveck were definitely not good opponents. Lara's situation is complicated though because he can't fight the Charlo twins. He's gonna have to wait for the Andrade/Culcay winner, or he's gonna have to start testing out 160.

This is a huge opportunity for him to make the fight as smooth as possible. People don't want to hear excuses. They don't want to hear him negotiating through the media. We all know most fights happen without fans even knowing they're in the negotiation process. This should be one of them and we should expect to hear dates, venues, not how much he wants and all that crap.
