I don't really recall Leo every being truly hurt in a fight (correct me if I'm wrong here), and I don't think Frampton will be the one to do it. I do think his best chance is to slow down Leo early by hurting him, which I think is a tall task.

My initial thought when thinking of the fight again was reach, then I looked them up. Leo will have a 7" reach advantage, which I think is huge. I'm not sure I really see Frampton beating up Leo on the inside, and I'm not sure how he outboxes him from a distance with that sort of reach disparity.

Not saying Frampton can't win this one, but he has a tall task ahead of him.
Leo Santa Cruz has never demonstrated he can utilise his God given assets. He seems to fight on the inside far to much for a big man. I think Framptons intelligence within the squared circle can take him a long way.

You do realise Frampton has the better defence? Better variety of punches? as well as an all round Boxing technique. Would it be fair for me to say Frampton passes the eye test?.

The odds have shortened even further. This is absolute madness. Leo Santa Cruz 1/3 vs Carl Frampton MBE. I can see a lot of people losing money Saturday night/Sunday morning.

I would disagree that he fights far too much on the inside considering his reach. His inside fighting is precisely what makes him good, that combined with an insane work rate. He has beautiful hooks to the body on the inside. I don't watch Santa Cruz's fights and feel frustrated that he isn't using his size appropriately. I feel with Frampton he will have to get inside on Leo due to the fact that if he stays at distance the reach advantage will become significant. And if, as you say, he doesn't use this advantage and the fight takes place on the inside, that favors the type of fight Leo probably wants.

Frampton has better defense? Perhaps, but does he have a better chin? In all around boxing technique, I agree Frampton is the better 'boxer'. But is he the better 'fighter' come fight night? I would argue that Santa Cruz is the bigger man, has a better chin, better stamina, and is a busier fighter. All of these will factor into the fight. Again I really see Frampton's key to victory will be able to either hurt Santa Cruz early on to slow him down, or hope his conditioning is good enough to 'out quick' Leo for 12 rounds, hoping Leo becomes frustrated by Frampton's speed.

There's no way frampton will get the nod if the fight is even remotely close.

I can see it now. 'yer but leo threw 2 thousand punches so its not that bad a robbery'
This isn't a Hearn or Warren card or in the UK for that matter. Al Hymie don't need pay judges shyt, he just gets his men another shot.

Agree. That's one thing LSC is very good at.

Santa Cruz is unrelenting and I don't see anyone keeping up with his work rate. As someone posted only shot Frampton has is to take take him out early. Save that no chance in hell hes beating Cruz.

No chance in hell?. Straight lines can be negated by lateral movement. Leo comes in straight lines and Carl has plenty lateral movement.

Carl Frampton is a special kind. Leo hasn't fought a Frampton and vice versa. Santa Cruz only chance is to win by a late stoppage and you'll realise early on in the fight.

We'll see. True that Leo hasn't fought anyone like Frampton, just that from what I've seen of Santa Cruz, not sure if Frampton can handle it. Should be a good one either way.
