Comments Thread For: Loeffler: Golovkin Will Have 3 Fights Prior To Canelo Fight

Promoter Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions expects IBO/IBF/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs) to have at least three fights before meeting Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (47-1-1, 33KOs) next September.

Please dear God don't let GGG get upset in any of those 3 fights. Canelo's team just praying that he loses 1, so they can use that as am excuse to kot have to fight him.

And of course, that would mean an even longer wait for Canelo, if they do plan to go through with the fight, because he'd obviously have a rematch with that fighter.

Hope everything goes smoothly for both guys.

Well, he'll have defeated a WW champ so I guess the next step is a LW. Crawford will totally duck him at 160! Just watch!

Yawn. Now they're acting like Saunders is an acceptable opponent just because he has a belt. Dude is one of those British champs who wouldn't be top 5 if he fought in the US. Either get Jacobs, Degale, or yawn.

Unfortunately both are with PBC to duck fighters like GGG so it's all a joke as usual with boxing. Looking forward to old GGG gassing and cutting it too close against Canelo next September in another 12 round snoozer "superfight" and getting robbed by the judges. Team Canelo isn't putting this off another whole year for nothing. They know punchers are already well on the decline at age 35. This will be another big disappointment just wait. God forbid these superfights happen before one of the fighters is 35+. God forbid!

Which true middleweights would you like him to fight who have shown willingness to fight him?

Or would you rather he move up and risk losing and losing the biggest fight of his career against a true middleweight who is ducking him?

            What would you do?

He really wanted to see him fight Lemieux, thought Ggg was gonna duck out. Then when the contract was signed he was like, this is a blatant cherry pick

                I want:

                1. Floyd
                2. Pacquiao

Then Canelo and then move up to fight the winner of Kovalev vs Ward.
