Ever looked at a boxer and thought"I can take him"?

I trained amateur boxers for the better part of two decades. Sparred with all of them and competed in a dozen or so smokers against other military boxers and some locals. I had the opportunity to spar with a local pro who most would say is a C-class fighter. He was stopped inside of 4 rounds by Soto-Karass. This guy was better than his record would indicate, but his head wasn't in the game. He had a lot of distractions with girlfriend/wife, and he didn't have his priorities in order, but he could fight. He was fast and had power, and during our sparring sessions he basically carry me and held back. If he wanted to, he could have ended it at any time.

I don't have any delusions to think that even on my best day I could ever compete with a pro who is ranked. Yes, I watch some fighters and think, 'Yeah, I could hang with this dude for X amount of rounds" but saying ain't doing, and being in that ring is a whole other story.

I think posters here need to answer this question from within ten or twenty pounds of their weight. Obviously a dude who is 6'5" 260 and has some skill is going to destroy a Flyweight if he can catch him.

Sometimes when I'm watching a really pathetic match between legit bums, I think "I should just turn pro right now". I mean sometimes the guys they put on TV are so bad, I am confident I could just walk straight into the ring and do a better job without even properly training for it.
