Not just fighters against Floyd but you're right. Case in point, Glen Johnson or Orlando Salido nowadays. Dudes went on to fight marquee fights with a grip of losses.

Of all the fighters who got the big Floyd payday I think Maidana was the least likely, dude went on a hArd grind ever since he got the Ortiz fight.

Maidana is further proof you don't need need to protect your record to get big fights and big paydays.
