He could have avoided all of this if he would have simply dropped the belt after beating Cotto . Instead he made a deal with Golovkin to have an extension and then fight. Instead he went back on his word and wasted everyone's time.

What wouldn't make any sense is going down to 154 only to fight at 160 immediately after, which is exactly what they admit they are planning to do. The good old 'go down to go up' strategy. Wait, that isn't a strategy, they made it up!
i agree he should have vacated after beating cotto, even more i think he shouldnt have fought for that vacant belt, but the only thing it was agreed was, sign for a ggg fight 15 days after khan or vacate, and he vacated, now if he can make 154 then he can stay there if he decides or not, thats up to him and no one else, if he feels comfortable at 154 and decides to stay there for another year then GGG should start on the diet for a canelo fight at 154 or else wait until canelo decides to move to 160, if canelo decides to take a couple of fights at 160 before taking on the best fighter at the weight then there is also nothing wrong with that, or he can even fight and defend titles in 2 different classes and is also valid, the point is that he has options and niether of those options are a road block for a ggg fight if ggg really wants it...

            Lmao... Canelo scared...

Same dude that "demanded and forced" his management team to make he lara and trout fights, yet can't do the same for Golovkin, in the biggest fight in boxing.

Didnt canelo agree to fight GGG if he got an interm fight beforehand, and fights khan. Then afterwards runs away from his pledge to fight Ggg in September..

Canelo has ruined his reputation, much like how rid**** Bowe ruined his.. No matter how many wins they get, their careers will always be defined by ducking one opponent

so now he has to do this everytime or else he is scared??
he is about to become a jmw champ, if he wants to fight in that division he has every right to do it, and shouldnt be considered a road block for a ggg fight since ggg has been saying he will go to 154 for a big ppv fight... if he decides to take a couple of fights to adapt at the full 160 then that is also valid, and i know he made a big mistake by calling out ggg and then not fighting him next, but that doesnt mean he is forced to fight ggg at 160 next, he gave up the belt and as a consequence he received a lot of criticism but he also gave him self options...

You're forgetting the fact that he agreed to fight Golovkin this fall if he could have an interm fight beforehand.. Then went back on his word.. Not to mention this is the biggest fight in boxing.

Canelo ****ed up by not just moving back down after he beat cotto.. Instead he stayed at middleweight, verbally agreed to fight Ggg in the fall but needed a tune-up, chose a chinny welter, then post fight declared "mexicans don't **** around" and called out ggg. But once the cameras stopped rolling, he backed out and ran away.. Those are the facts, and no spin can change that

It's not that Canelo called him out after Khan, it was the fact that he negotiated an extension in the first place so he could defend the middleweight title against Khan with the premise bro they would fight after, that's the problem . If Golovkin had known that he would have never of granted the extension in the first place! It was a BS move by Canelo and you know it.

It is absolutely Canelo's right if he wants to campaign at 154, the problem was everything I just mentioned above. On top of that they are already looking to fight at 160, likely Billy Joe Saunders so there is no intention of campaigning at 154. The whole thing is a joke

he was given a voluntary defense by the wbc with the promise he had to sign for the fight 15 days after the khan fight or vacate... no part of that agreement was broken, he vacated... if he feels better at 154 then is on him if he decides to stay there, or if he needs a couple of fights to get ready for 160 thats also fair , he has no obligation for anything right now...
