A career 160 guy shouldn't be waiting on a former welterweight to start fighting guys at 160 to legitimize himself or to make big money. Does Alvarez hold the keys to Golovkin future? That's what it sounds like.

    I agree !

Personally, I think that Canelo should wait Golovkin out.

Give it 2 years, and then re-evaluate.

Golovkin tries to pull that A-side rubbish whenever he can, and yet he refused to negotiate on the weight with Canelo..... and this is despite promising that he would give Canelo a catchweight, and also despite talking all that 154-168 rubbish for FOUR YEARS.

I slightly favor Golovkin at 160, but the 5lbs obviously matters, or else lil'G would become big'G and back up all that ****-talk..... and no way should Canelo give Golovkin every advantage.

Wait him out, adapt to 160 with Eubank then Saunders, and then fight Golovkin when he has slipped.

Canelo should do the exact same lame rubbish that Golovkin does..... which is take the fights you think you can win, and pass on the rest..... because even if he beats an older Golovkin, everybody will forget what came before.

I wish both sides would just STFU. Just like nobody will ever be able to convince me that Floyd and Manny weren't working together all those years. And scheming the public into buying fight after fight after after fight. With the hope that they would fight each other next. GGG and Canelo are doing the same thing. Canelo has a nice lil fanbase that's gonna support him regardless. GGG has a cushy lil HBO deal that's gonna pay him handsomely for fight the local, cab driver, mailman, plumber, etc, in whatever city he's fighting in. Canelo's face is protected by the, "look at all the names I've fought, and I'm only 25" card. GGG is protected by the, "nobody wants to fight me card." GGG is currently ahead in the PR war. I'm totally convinced that taking the Brook fight was a strategic move to take a lil heat off of Canelo. Fight won't happen next year either. I'm pretty sure around this time next year, one of the sanctioning bodies will demand some dip**** mandatory, which will block the fight from happening in Sept. And since the belts are so important, especially to the GGG side. It will be a nice lil safe excuse to put the fight off another year or so.

I honestly believe the fight will eventually happen. But, it will occur once Golovkin has aged a bit more and/or shown more vulnerability. If he hasn't moved up by then, I think that will be when Canelo really pushes to make the fight happen. As for Golovkin, at this point, he needs to forget about Canelo and the WBO belt. He made a decent effort to get Saunders, Jacobs, Quillen, and Eubank in the ring, but it didn't happen and likely won't happen. At this point 160 is a lost cause. Move up and attempt to become undisputed at 168. As a newcomer to the division, he may have better success negotiating fights with some of the contenders and champs there.

Calling out GGG must be Canelo's new mantra. He had the chance to prove he wanted the fight by.... duh taking the fight.
