Marvin Hagler didn't move up either. It took BHop 13 years to move back up in weight. If Golovkin's career started earlier I think he would have started as a 154 guy.

Marvin was a SMALL MW, who often weighed in below the limit in the days of same day weigh ins.

There was no SMW division when he was prime, and after it'd been added, it didn't gain popularity until after he'd retired.

Was he supposed to move up to LHW and fight huge guys like Spinks?
