Different type of weight? no one expects Brook to come fat. He won't. But people is ******. They are calling him fat even now.

Brook weighed 156 fight night for Porter, people saying Brook weighs 160+ are just trying to make the fight look more competitive.

Brook will be carrying more weight than he usually does in the ring and it will affect him. That's just basic common sense.

I think its a misconstrued argument. The guy's frame isn't big enough & he isn't tall enough like most of the guys who can grow easily into the next division..
Golovkin walks around 170+ so he is pretty much always in range to make the MW limit.. You see the frame of some of the SMW, they are generally taller with longer reach.. That said Golovkin isn't too small either to make the SMW, but I doubt if he can go any higher as it would be a serious disadvantage going into those higher weights..

I'm curios if anyone here went to the press events announcing this fight and what they thought of the size differences. I've heard conflicting stories about sizes. This fight makes no sense to me other than a paycheck which they were honest about on both sides. Thank god for boxnation streaming though.

Brook is moving up, of course he will be carrying more weight... OHHH that's ****ing common sense boy.

The weight will make him stronger, more durable, etc. So yes, it will affect him, in a positive way. Thanks.

It will make him slower and tire more easily.

The only time I seen a guy from a division or two below outsize a fighter at a higher weight class is when Pacquiao fights.

Guys like Bradley, Algieri, Rios came from a lighterweight but were all much bigger than Manny on fight night and walking around weight wise. Bradley gets as high as 180 fought in the 160s in the Ams, Algieri is 6 foot tall and weighs 173 pounds walking around, Rios is 5 foot 9 and walks around in the high 180s.

I dont think Kell Brook will weigh more than GGG on fightnight, but GGG is not a huge middleweight thats for sure, he walks around in the 170s. Brook is not as lean as GGG when he gets up in weight so Brook and GGG will probably be close in weight on fight night but GGG will be much leaner, while Brook will not have his signature shredded physique on fight night he will still look fit but will have higher body fat content.

I think Brook will weigh in like 167 on fight night, and Golovkin around 173 on fight night.
