How large was the budget? If they gained 2,5 mio viewers on a shoestring budget, it should be considered a success.

His comparison with HBO and especially HBO PPV numbers is ******ed though.
Exactly. The revenue the event generated would determine it's success.

At least the +3 day rating seems to have improved. I figured 2+ mill would be the average, and it turns out it hit that mark.

Arreola just about won that fight. Wilder was down to one arm and clowning to distract Chris. I'm not saying Chris was fighting well, but Wilder was hurting himself beating on him. A little longer and that left might have broken too. Arreola lost the fight, but he might have just ruined Wilder.

I didn't watch the fight... 2 me it was crap plus the fool doesn't even know how 2 punch breaks his hand & tore his right bicep and his ... comes from failure 2 deliver the punch properly... good basic fundamentals lost...I spent my time watching 2 other good fights on 2 other networks that we were running...

Dibella andd haymon are the ones who just don't seem to get it. They have s great opportunity with pbc to bring boxing back to the mainstream and they are effing it up by allowing these horrible hard to watch mismatches. Chris arreola should never be allowed to co headline a primetime pbc card and wilder should not be allowed to fought guys like him. It's doing more harm to the sport than good. Hate all you want but if bob arum were running pbc the ratings would be much higher and not dead last among the primetime shows

so basically boxing casuals danced around to Pac vs Algieri saying he was destroyed along with the 400K buys equaling Bradley 3,

yet the essence of boxing, trying to provide for the public and free, without being suckered into Arum style PPV, gets hate? yeah clearly dumb fans and clever network rivals are not in denial!

                Boommbbbb Squaaddd!

Nice fairytale. In reality the Pbc purses are dropping, and none of these guys have name recognition, and neither does the Pbc brand.

Floyd had his 32m ppv minimum. I bet most elites are not happy to top out at under 5% of that

it's now the tv deals that are getting nba players 20 million a year for multiple years guaranteed if u dont think boxing can have the same model if they mke fights consistently then that is on you. the numbers matter..ppv has taken a hit and will continue to take it..boxing might need to realize that not even floyd can be floyd anymore...there is noway as showtime i'd pay him 40 mil to come back for one fight vs someone other than pac or canelo.

Truth is, boxing has become a niche sport. It no longer has the attention of the public that it once did in the 70's - 90's. Too much politics, too much greed, and too many fighters avoiding the other top guys is what killed this sport.
