Agree with Dibella with the exception of the PPV part, I read that every PPV is equal to about 6 people watching so Tyson /Holyfield probably was watched by 10-15 million people

Wilder doing 2.5 is a good #, the card avg 1.5 is decent. These numbers are higher then what MLB avg on Fox, Higher then Wimbleton, PGA and Euro 2016 ratings. But it doesn't compare to the NBA finals so it failed.

It's a shame that so many boxing fans are too ****** to actually think for themselves and just drink the negative kool aid that is written by certain members of the press. Yet most of those same fans cheer when Kov hits a million

Who cares. Wilder is irrelevant until he fights good fighters. Povetkin was just supposed to be the stepping stone, a much smaller guy, before fighting Fury or Joshua at the end of this year. Instead he ducked and isn't fighting the rest of the year.

Wilder-Arreola was a total mismatch, as usual for PBC.

PBC is basically irrelevant now. They had goodwill at the beginning, new fans came to see what boxing was about in 2016 because they hadn't watched it in a long time or maybe ever, but once they got a taste of PBC mismatches, they said "this is so boring, boxing is a boring sport" and stopped watching for good. PBC hasn't grown the sport, they have permanently turned many people off the sport because PBC was their first experience watching boxing, and it was such a disappointing experience.

It's difficult to even quantify the damage PBC has done to boxing in just two years. This is why you see boxing in the UK gaining popularity, while boxing in the US declines. That's because PBC operates in the US. PBC has tanked boxing in the US, opening up Britain to become the new boxing capital. That's how much damage PBC has done.

I never even watch PBC anymore to be honest. Caught two rounds of Wilder-Arreola then turned it off. You could tell just from the physiques and the size difference that it was a complete mismatch. Dibella must be on drugs to call this a gritty performance. Wilder was so challenged, in so much pain, that he was doing hulahoops while Arreola punched at him in slow motion. Real gritty. Real challenge. FOH.

Lou man, what the hell happened to you? Honestly? I don't think you're a bad dude, won't give up on you because I have a long memory from before all this bullisht, but come on Lou you must know this is a real bad look. Whatever Haymon is paying you, it's not worth losing everything you've built, and I don't mean materially.

Well, you have to analyze the numbers with some context.
How did it compare to other networks, to other sports?
How large was the budget? If they gained 2,5 mio viewers on a shoestring budget, it should be considered a success.

His comparison with HBO and especially HBO PPV numbers is ******ed though.

It seems like the new writers cater to the ignorance of so many boxing fans. It's become more about a sensational headline or storyline that gets clicks than actual boxing information. These days folks don't understand the business of boxing. They don't understand the premise of PBC. Boxing on free TV may reduce purses and take money out of promoters pockets but it promotes the sport. I loved to hear Keith Thurman say he wanted to continue to fight on free TV. We just need to get more fights like his last one on free TV.
