I watched that fight about 3 times...and made the conclusion...considering what you know now...how do you feel about being an ass?...

Marco Antonio Barrea was able to easily beat Naseem Hamed because he fought a very disciplined, patient, slow paced and cautious fight.

For instance, He countered very effectively, whenever the Prince attempted to rush him with those wide lead right hand haymakers of his, he likes to throw off the front foot. Moreover, whenever Barrera hurt him, he never got overly reckless to the point of chasing Hamed in pursuit of a KO because that was what Naseem was anticipating but MAB simply refused to take the bait.

In addition, Barrera chose his spots very carefully and mostly fought in spurts in a defensive boxer-counter puncher position where he was able to out jab Naseem. He didn't fight in the typical Mexican style which had confused Hamed. Simply put, Barrera just outclassed him.

In other words, he used a mixture of confidence, poise, skill, wit and ring intelligence in order to defeat Naseem Hamed.

it was due to the fact that barrera was always on another level than hamed.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the video. Marquez made a lot of strange moves outside the ring.

He was the more fundamentally talented fighter, all that flash Hamed had hide all of his flaws and Barrera just exposed them

2 great fighters, but barrera was more fundamentally sound, and when prince was faced with such high skill level, his sloppy technique and flaws got exposed

Prince kinda reminds me of Vic darchiyan.. Helluva fighter but could be exposed as sloppy and not technically sound

if they both ran and trained the exact same amount of time barrera will still beat nas, all these dumb asses saying, preparation, lack of motivation DKSAB, if hamed was prepared and motivated he still will be limited skill wise and barrera beat him with skills and skills alone.
This. Skills, plain and simple. It wasn't a preparation thing. Hamed got timed, countered and beat up by the better fighter, on any night.

Hamed's first fight in vegas i believe.

LOOOOOL at not being up for it.

one of the lamer and weaker excuses for MAB embarrassing that jihadi goofball.

Hamed would have been a much better fighter had he been an atheist.

Islam, his arrogant pushing of the religion ruined him.

That night vs barerra was just a glorious night.
