So , you'll be on here to give Ward credit right? And if you have been reading, they are NOT going to strip Kovalev of his titles. It's been said they will allow Ward to fight him first. Check ESPN or wherever.

I would give Ward credit under 3 conditions

1)If Ward beats him like he did Froch, not Kessler.The Kessler fight was a DQ even though I think Ward beats Kessler 10/10 times. Still there's no reason to be dirty about it.

2)If there is nothing fishy like when Cintron got knocked out by Martinez only for the ref not to call it a KO.

3)A robbery doesn't occur.

If Ward wins a clean UD or a tko/ko(not likely) i'd be more than happy to give him credit because I don't believe he can beat Kovalev.

That said giving credit doesn't mean I have to like him. He ducked GGG in 2013, Bute, Stevenson, and sued a man that made his career while on his death bed. All this while claiming to be one of god's sons.

Why is anyone bringing up attendance anyway? Ward averaged almost as many viewers as Kovalev vs pascal

Talking about attendance or ratings means nothing. It cannot take away from a fighters skills. What they really want to say but don't is that it's a dangerous fight and God forbid their favorite fighter(s) gets beat by a guy who isn't as hugely popular as they think he needs to be to be relevant. They don't say it, but they're all thinking it.

Well, imo a win is a win. I think ward will purposely make it ugly, frustrate Kovalev because at the end of the day a puncher cannot control his urge to come out swinging, even more so when, if Kovalev does that...he'll be looking at lights more than once, if he doesn't get stopped.

By the 2nd round it seems like he comes out swinging but in almost all the cases he gets knockdowns and knockouts it's because he had set up his opponent. Unlike the majority I thought Kovalev looked pretty good against Chilemba although he's stamina wasn't as good as it usually is.

I'm not giving him little credit, Ward just has more raw talent and isn't going to fall for traps like a pascal or other lesser fighter. I'm not saying Kovalev cannot win, I am saying that unless he catches Ward cold, he's likely going to have a hard time. Kovalev obviously is a puncher, but ward has 2 fists too and his left hooks have only gotten better. It's the shot you don't see that hurts you. Ward is more capable of throwing those shots imo.

Here you are whining about tune up fights to get acclimated to the 175 limit even though he is signed to fight Kovalev.
