Just realized Spence is fighting a 41 year 1:100 underdog, Rod Salka next?

So Spence is talking big, wanting to face Canelo etc and some illusional fans already claim Spence is the top WW out there, even though he faced no one so far. Haymon has a huge stable of fighters at 147.
I thought they want to build him up and match him up with a Top 10, at least Top 20 opponent.
Now Spence is facing that small Italian who turns 42 in a couple months, who doesn't even have a punchers chance (30% KO Ratio). Spence is like 3 inches taller, 4 inches longer reach as well.
What does that fight do for Spence? Does Haymon have no better fighters that Brook could face? Is anyone giving Bundu the slightest chance? Casinos list Spence as a 100:1 favorite.. damn, who is he fighting next, Salka?Comment

it's not a great fight, but bundu isn't a bad fighter. spence is still learning. i know that he's easily a top 10 WW, but he's young, and he can benefit from being in there with a durable guy who knows a lot of tricks.
i really think they expected algieri to take him more rounds. i certainly did. now they probably feel liek they could use another fight of prep before they take on thurman or porter.
spence won't be fighting the bundus of the world in a year or so. they know what they've got. that kid might be pound for pound one day. they just want to make sure he's ready for his first "real fight" against porter, thurman, brook, etc.Comment

This feels like a race bait but in reverse for the white man... Or maybe the op can't tell the difference between a prospect and a champion. Big difference between what Danny is doing and what ggg is doing though. Both what Spence and ggg is doing is understandable no need to hate on either, but what Garcia is doing is pretty pathetic.
Seeing some of the response is funny though from the people who says belts don't matter when it comes to ggg when he fought wade to keep his belts but it's important for Spence to have his title shot.Comment

I'm sure his promo team wants him active and to maintain a busy schedule you can't fight top fifteen contenders all the time.
He is abiding a federations mandatory and staying in the gym and fighting regularly.
If people on this forum had a slight clue how the inner workings of match making and maintaining business ties with other promoters works these forums wouldn't be filled with juvenile garbage!
Keeping a young fighter busy is the most important task for any management company and upper level opponents will not be available always nor are they needed when gaining experiences. Relax

I'd personally love for fighters that are more established to say f#ck this bs alphabet group opponent and make the titles mean less than they already do by dropping a belt and fighting a more viable opponent. I've been saying that specifically about Thurman's next bs opponent that is also being thrust upon him, but I can't dog a boxer for not dropping a belt over a bs alphabet group opponent cuz it is a move that could hurt them moving forward.Comment

I don't think people are realizing where Spence is at in his career or something. The alphabet groups are doing f#cked up **** with champions and contenders alike, but let's not act like Spence isn't in an inferior position then GGG or Thurman since he's never even held a title to get all uppity and turn down a fight that will give him the opportunity to fight Kell Brook, the guy many consider the #1 guy in the division. This fight for Spence is huge for him given that reality that doesn't even compare to the bs title defenses being thrust on Thurman, GGG, Fury and many other champions.Comment

Not that I agree with Jubei because Boom Boom Bundu is no Salka situation, I do understand what he is getting at. When I was drunk the other night I made a post about Errol Spence and the NSB Black Power mafia jumped all over me. Ive seen a lot of hypocrite fans, GGG and Manny fans being some of the worst but this PBC era of fans have to be the most un-reasonable there is. And this isnt all the black fans on here, because there are a lot of non-bias good posters, Im talking about the ones that have an obvious preference for fighters that are black and occasionally back an Afro-Cuban to make them not look totally bias.
I cant stand GGG for my own reasons, but it seems like the main reason most that hate GGG claim he "fights bums," which I agree he does fight bums but I cant help but notice he makes a living off of beating a lot of African American bums, especially his last 2 and I bet that fires "certain" posters up (underlined agenda). But as I stated earlier, I made a thread about PBC and its African American fighters beating up on Mexican and Mexican American fighters that suck but Im called a racist and a crybaby because I noticed this and spoke out? Also I noticed this particular group of fans love to quote #'s whether its $, age, PPV, or audience etc... but Bumlovkin cant take a $$$ fight? I agree Brook vs GGG is a crappy fight and I will watch it on my firestick but if you dont look at it like a hypocrite, it makes financial sense for GGG to take the damn fight, its EASY MONEY. I know it goes against everything GGG and his team state (making them hypocrites) but it literally goes by everything PBC is about. So how can one fanbase criticize the other?
And lastly I really shouldn't take this out on Errol Spence because the young man is definitely talented and I really do hope him the best, its not his fault his fans are thick headed & bias. Right now imo he is still an un-proven protected prospect BUT the sky is the limit for him. Beating Boom Boom Bundu will not raise his stock any imho, itll get him closer to a title shot but theres like 3 other champs making 3 other #1 contenders. The 147 division is wide open and for anyone to say a prospect is the best WW is really a slap in the face to proven guys like Tim Bradley.Comment
