Don't count on it coming from Oscar. I do think Canelo has to fight GGG to get some semblance of respect again. His Mexican fans are leaving. The only thing that might bring them back is Canelo taking this fight. Even so the next time he steps in the ring get ready for crowd abuse.

I won't care about this fight until Canelo has a legit 160lb opponent first or its actually happening, whichever comes first.

          Huge Risk

Oscar is taking a huge risk in hoping that Canelo remains unbeaten until the supposed September 2017 date.

Canelo is fighting a tough Liam Smith in September.

Then wants to possibly fight Billy Jo Saunders in December, follow that up with a fight next May. After all that fight GGG?

That's a tough task. Canelo obviously has the ability to go through all those road blocks but if he falls between then Canelo will suffer in popularity and the fight will lose it's luster.

He said same crap this year

But if they fight Suanders next, I'll believe it more because why put that pressure on yourself.

Look it's nothing to do with being invested in golovkin buddy....it's about canelo stepping down to a lower division fighting a guy who when canelo wins will not add any credibility ...the words from Oscar was that September 2017 canelo will fight golovkin....so surely his preparation for that mega fight against the fearsome golovkin should be to step up his game and fight middleweights and not drop back down to fight a fighter who won't prepare him for that golovkin meeting...think about it.....you won't see a middle distance runner suddenly drop down to a 1500 metre race when he has to prepare for next years marathon...think about dazed

It doesn't really matter to me. At this point, Golovkin needs to worry about his own career and not base it on one fight. If he had fought some top opposition or was a comparable star then he'd have a stronger leg to stand on. But for now, given the runaround he's been getting from Team Canelo, he should just move on to other challenges.

Just being sarcastic fella..been some amazing Mexican fighters in the past that's for sure....as for canelo he's lost a lot of credibility doing what he did...business or no business.....Liam smith ain't gonna give him a mega payday and he certainly won't gain any more to his legacy by beating smith....cowards a big word to label a fighter but I can understand why people are not supporting him now......
