you should do yourself a big favor and just be quiet. That way people wont know how ignorant you really are.
The Ward offer was for ONE interim fight, and then they meet in 2016. ONE INTERIM FIGHT. (That would have been the Lemeiux fight BTW) The IBF had already said that the winner of GGG-Lemieux had a mando due, and they only allow that to be bumped in favor of a unification fight. GGG-Ward is not a unification fight, so bye bye IBF title. And if you want to claim that the IBF wouldnt actually strip him, then that shows you know squat about the IBF.
As for the WBC interim, had GGG accepted this deal, the first thing Oscar would have done the day after Canelo beat Cotto would be to call the WBC and say they were ready to negotiate with GGG for the mando defense. (even though they would be bluffing, it doesnt matter) Heres how that convo would have went:
"We're ready to do our mando. Whats that, GGG is not available because he's contractually bound to a Ward fight? My my thats awful, I guess he will have to be stripped then, and we'll move on to the next contender"
And yes, Oscar and Gomez are smart enough to know to do just that. You're the one who is a bit "challenged" in these areas........
Wade became Golovkin's "next up" IBF opponent after Tureno Johnson was unavailable due to injury.
Ward vacated his WBA Super World Super Middleweight title in Nov of 2015 but his Golovkin offer was in September 2015 so Ward was in fact a champion when the offer was made to K2.
So based on your "logic" the WBA should be planning on stripping Golovkin for facing Brook?
The IBF stripping inactive Jermaine Taylor does not equate to the IBF stripping Golovkin for facing Andre Ward instead of Dominic Wade. C'mon now.
Do I need to point out that Golovkin was not the IBF Middleweight champion when Roc Nation sent K2 the fight proposal?Last edited by Mr. Luthor; 07-20-2016, 08:17 AM.Comment

..... you mean, 2 days after he was turned down in 36 minutes flat ?
..... which would be 2 days after it became clearly apparent that lil'G would never fight him, EVER?
..... well, Ward did not hang around rotting in a dead division, thats for sure.Comment

Stop embarrassing yourself by trying to use what you think De La Hoya would have done as "evidence" to support your opinion.

sigh, I feel like I lose 100 brain cells every time I engage with you.
Look, this really isnt that hard to understand. K2 has said from day 1 that by the time they got Ward's "offer", they had already committed to the Lemieux fight. So they would have been well aware that Lemieux had a mando due, and that even though GGG-Lemieux could proceed (because it was a unification fight), the winner would have an immediate mando due. There have been multiple threads here about the IBF and their inflexibility when it comes to mandos, so please educate yourself before trying to claim there is some magical way that GGG could have signed for the Ward deal and yet NOT get stripped by the IBF.
Hint: there isnt
and to those that have the mistaken notion that GGG could have fought Lemieux, then did a mando or whatever, here is a quote from Loeffler......
Gennady Golovkin‘s manager Tom Loeffler responded to allegations that they turned down a fight to face Andre Ward. Ward stated that they offered a 50/50 deal at 168 lbs and within 5 minutes team GGG turned down the offer, but Loeffler told the La Times ”it was an offer to fight Ward in “late of 2016” with both fighter’s taking a fight before, ”
Loeffler went on to say ”Should Golovkin defeat Lemieux he would be in line to face the winner of Cotto-Canelo next, a much bigger fight, if Golovkin sells well as his own PPV then taking a fight at 50/50 with Ward right now would be premature considering Golovkin could be a much bigger star in late of 2016. That’s not to say the Golovkin-Ward can’t happen, it’s just something that will have to be revisited after the Cotto-Canelo situation plays out”.

if 168 is "dead", then why are idiots like you always crying that GGG wont move up to 168?Comment

Its getting out hand here. People screaming he's a throwback, a boogey man etc etc but he is more maneuvered than anyfighter going right now.Comment

Top 3 is very impressive but it means that 2 boxers are ahead of Golovkin. Ridiculous to suggest that Canelo is holding the Lineal title "hostage" when he hasn't even had it for a year.Comment
