Question. Is Kovalev getting any extra revenue for fighting Chilemba from Ward?

I truly don't understand some of you 'fans.'
It seems like your main interest is that the fighter with whom you are most in love wins. It doesn't matter if the contest is skewed in favor of the guy. All that matters is that he wins so that 'your guy' wins again.
The Ward lovers want GGG to fight at the highest possible weight. The GGG fans want him to fight at the lowest possible weight.
Shouldn't we want them to meet at a weight that gives us all the best possible fight. These are two great fighters, so lets not have a fight where one of them is drained or bloated.
I don't know what the ideal fairest weight is. I think it's probably about 168.
Ward can't possible make anything below 168 and I doubt GGG can jump up above 168.

Also Ward has never headlined a PPV before to my knowledge. GGG did last year, and is about to headline one in the UK. Ward will headline his first vs a top three P4P fighter. GGG headlined his vs David Lemieux.
Canelo is hardly a PPV star by the way. Gets about 300k views to fight highly anticipated fights vs Lara or another popular Mexican in Angulo. GGG got half that against a Canadian who hadn't fought on HBO all year. If it was GGG-Lara it probably gets at least 200k.
So Canelo is 35% more popular PPV wise when he fights similar opponents... and GGG is getting five times more $ for his next fight than Ward is, and probably twice as much as Ward will even get against Kovalev.
But that doesn't count? You're the moron if you think vague labels matter more than logic. Before the standard was always the bigger star was the A-side, period. Now you try to argue that doesn't matter for GGG-Ward because even though GGG is a bigger star, he's not a PPV star, so he's not a big enough star himself. Well if GGG is a bigger star than Ward, but he's still not a big enough star for it to count, then how big a star does that make Ward? That must make him even further away from being a PPV star, so that still makes him the B-side.
2 is twice as much as 1, just like 100 is twice as much as 50. You can't answer that fact by saying "yeah but 2 isn't 100." It's about relativity. Canelo is a bigger PPV star than GGG, but GGG is a bigger PPV star than Ward, so why is Canelo being a bigger star than GGG relevant but GGG being a bigger star than Ward not relevant? I'm trying to think how else I can explain it but you just don't want to see your own inconsistency I guess. That's the hallmark of someone who is biased against certain fighters, they can never admit their own bias to themselves even when it's so damn obvious.
Hell, I remember people saying Rigondeaux should take whatever Donaire offered him to get the fight, whatever terms, because Donaire was the A-side. Yet, Donaire was never a PPV star either. So it's never been about that and you know it! There's never been a minimum barrier of being a PPV star to be an A-side LOL. Talk about out of left field. I wonder who was the A-side last saturday, Deontay or Arreola? I'm pretty sure it was Deontay, and yet he's not a PPV star. So there have been so many discussions of A-side B-side on boxingscene with almost every top fighter and their fights, and almost none of them besides Pacquiao and Floyd are PPV stars. So there you go. You have applied inconsistent standards when judging GGG, if not compared to your prior standards of A-side/B-side, then at least inconsistent with the standards put forth by the Floyd/Ward fan contingent on boxingscene.
Ward-Kovalev will sell more than Lil Gs PPV, Ward will have more PPV sales in the US than Lil G. That's all that matters Mr Boxing Logic because that's their market. Only fights involving British fighters get on PPV in the UK Mr Boxing Logic, before you start fantasising about Lil G being a UK draw.Last edited by Robbie Barrett; 07-19-2016, 08:16 PM.

Ward at 175 looks very tough for GGG. GGG just isn't that big a guy but Ward has been bumping above 168 for years - he's got the frame for it. I'm not saying this fight won't happen because if things go well for them both it will be a huge money fight, but I don't see it as a decently matched fight.

GGG has not cleaned out the division (Jacobs, Eubank jr. Saunders, Canelo). I will admit Canelo is a 154 fighter when he makes 154.
