We saw it when Ward wanted Golovkin, too. You have a point.

Rigo should be back for Cotto/Marquez or Bradley undercard right? They need to put him in there with somebody better, maybe Moises Flores

Not really since we're talking about guys in their own division and last I checked Golovkin has never once fought at 168. Rigondeaux, Golovkin, Ortiz, these are all guys who have been struggling big time to get significant flights in their respective weight classes, top guys in their division who avoid them entirely.

Golovkin has shown plenty of interest in fighting at 168, just not against Ward for some reason.

So regardless of being in the same division or not there is a lot of ducking going on in the sport at the moment.

Sure he's flirted with the idea of fighting at 168 a couple times but at the end of the day never has.

As for Ward, he's had one opportunity to fight him. As you already know, that one time was when Roc Nation contacted K2 after he already signed to fight Lemeuix with the expectation of fighting Canelo some time after, being that he was mandatory. Prior to that, Ward wasn't fighting and when he was, Golovkin was willing to fight Ward at 168 but Ward had his own issues, so it is what it is.

Regardless, there is a huge difference since no one is obligated to move up or down in weight, but you are however obligated to fight the top guys in your own division.

You can't duck other divisions, it's not the way it works. No one is obligated to move up or down in weight, despite what some NSB posters say.

When you avoid an undefeated world champion who is willing to fight you...at a weight that you have no problem pursuing other fights at...that's a duck.

Something that we have an epidemic of in the sport at the moment.
