Darnel Boone is better than ggg's whole resume. Sakio Bika is better than his whole resume as well. Not to mention Kessler, Dawson, and Abraham. Edwin Rodriguez, Sullivan Barrera, and Edison Miranda are comparable to his best win-David Lemeuix. Don't even try to make the comparison of resumes.

Chad Dawson, Abraham, Kessler, his resume is leaps and bounds better than pussie g. The difference is you brought up who WARD is fighting and I had to correct you that he will be fighting Kovalev November 19th, in Las Vegas that fight is signed, both sides want it so it's about to go down.

If you have that little faith the Ward vs Kovalev fight doesn't happen because of Andre Ward in 2016 show me your confidence and put your account on the line.

It is not Golovkin's fault that middleweight is dead.....

Boxing history does not care, or accept that excuse, and why should it?

That is not the fault of Carlos Monzon, or Marvin Hagler..... so why should they be penalised?

They racked up those great wins, and Golovkin did not..... the reason why is irrelevant.

Boxing historians do not evaluate excuses, they measure results.

Golovkin should move up.

The only person I would say that Golovkin ducked is Ward and even then there are valid reasons from both a sporting pov and a commercial pov. The others you mention; well, I don't know why you even mention Mora? Jacobs is fighting him and there is zero interest. Cotto never ever had any intention of fighting Gennady.
Is Golovkin manufactured? Bringing out your sliding scale again, "yes, somewhat". 3 years ago Golovkin was largely unheard of. But he was already a champion and more than halfway through his KO streak. That he has continued to KO all level 2 and 3 opponents in front of him is highly eye-catching. Before Team GGG said he is avoided, the boxing media, and now the general media started painting him as a "monster" scaring off other boxers to the hills. The boxing media created the hype. So the boxing media and now mainstream media have played a large part in "manufacturing" him. Golovkin has just gone about doing what he does against whoever is put in front of him. I'm sure he was hoping and expecting to fight Eubank but then took Brook.
On another note, and linked to my other posts. Boxing needs stars if it is to stay relevant. The alternative would be for it to end up off tv screens and poorly promoted with mismatches being the norm. So as boxing fans we should be happy when new stars emerge, manufactured or not.
What bothers many on these boards is that more skilled fighters like Ward get a fraction of the acclaim of Golovkin. Mix that in with the fact Golovkin looks white and Ward is black and the injustice is compounded in their minds. But that is not necessarily true. Tyson got more hype than Golovkin is getting now. Principally because he was at HW and even more destructive. Bruno got much hype in the UK until his first loss. Joshua is the biggest star in the UK right now. That has always been the way in boxing. Stardom needs casuals on the train and nothing captures a casual's interest more than a hyped KO artist.
