To give Ward the p4p position ?That's like saying manny is StILL the best fighter because he did this and that back in 2009-2011 lol it's irrelevant. Manny pacquiao at 37 looked far better against a prime elite 147 pounder than Ward did against a nobody at 175 lol. If you think GGG hasn't done ****, he's made everyone in his division lose their pen.
Interesting. Now please recognize these facts:

Ward won his first Super Middleweight title, the WBA title, by beating #1 ranked Super Middleweight in the world, 42-1 Mikkel Kessler.

Golovkin won his first Middleweight title, the WBA title, by beating #4 ranked WBA, 14-2-1 Nilson Julio Tapia.

Little things like this are why fans criticize Golovkin's resume and will not accept any claims of him being #1 P4P. Golovkin has a lot too prove where as Ward has already proven himself against superior competition.

^^^^basically...people act like ward is washed up like Roy Jones....Ward was the champ at 168 a few years ago and is just 32.

        GGG never fought anyone elite...period

LMAO here we go...hell will break loose on this website. It's the same argument many of us have made. Since the super six Ward has left much to be desired. So top 5 p4p doesn't make sense to many us. Doesn't mean he isn't a great fighter or a phenomenal athlete it means what was done in the past doesn't compensate for the past five years. He beats Kovalev and yeah you can call him the best p4p fighter in the sport and that can't be argued until someone knocks him off it.

There's some validity in your statement but with that being said, who has Golovkin ever beat to be considered #1 P4P? You cannot make a legitimate claim to the P4P crown when you are a 6 yr champion but David Lemieux is your most impressive victory, and your next opponent is from 2 divisions below you.

It's still Chocolatito IMO, with some combination of Golovkin/Ward/Kovalev rounding out Top 5. I'd put Pac #2 if he unretires.

I've never made the argument for Golovkin to be P4P although for some mysterious reason when the discussion of Ward happens it seems to get countered with who has golovkin fought. I can make a personal case for Golovkin being top 5 p4p even with his meager competition because of the sheer amount of fighters whose actions to not fight him have validated his threat level. I don't think we've seen the best of Golovkin yet by any stretch though but I was hoping Loeffler would give us the opportunity to see it and instead we end up with Brook. I do believe Golovkin under a different promoter, one with real financial leverage and pull would've by now destroyed many a highly ranked name.

Ward & GGG are NOT the p4p best in boxing! Not even close!
Roman has clearly taken that spot over and if anyone on this forum knew anything about boxing they'd realize it!

Ward is a technician and a very good one he is the modern day Archie Moore!
GGG is the "pressure" styled fighter who uses a "boxers" form and style to achieve his goals.
Roman is a boxer/puncher who has ALL the punches and uses defensive moves to counter punch off of!

Roman does what the others do and more..............he is more thorough with a deliberate style and is the most damaging competitor too!

I believe you'll see GGG step up once he gets the division he's in conquered.
I think Ward has a good challenge coming in Koval but Koval needs to be at his very best to compete with Ward.
Chocolatito also has challenges in front of him and he's the fighter I'd rather watch than any other in boxing right now. A true champion and complete package!
