  • Comments Thread For: Vargas: Brook Wanted Payday, Nobody Expects Him To Beat GGG

WBO welterweight champion Jessie Vargas (27-1, 10KOs) feels IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (36-0, 25KOs) was only looking for a big payday - and that's why he agreed to jump up by two weight divisions for a fight with WBA/WBC/IBO/IBF middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs).

Literally exactly the same as Vargas facing Brook. Total mismatch of a lightwelter vs a welterweight.

Nobody expected Vargas to win, and he only did it for the payday. Otherwise he would have obviously accepted the new terms.

The GGG fight simply made more sense. More money, more prestige. Can always fight Vargas or the other welter's after if they want it.

Idiotic statement. Brook is an undefeated World Champion in a glamour division. He could make money fighting anyone. He's doing this for glory and immortality, in which all roads lead through Gennady "Pound For Pound" Golovkin.

C'mon man. You're smarter than that. Those were the terms they agreed to. Why would Hearn agree to those terms without having Kell onboard? He's supposed to have his fighter ready to go before he even gives Vargas an offer. Vargas was waiting a whole month for Kell to sign his offer. People want to talk about the two weeks it was taking to make Eubank Jr and GGG. Vargas was waiting a whole month. Eddie pulled the plug on the Eubank-GGG fight because he knew he wasn't going to get Vargas to lower his purse. Hearn had said the GGG-Eubank Jr fight would make up for the loss he's taking with the Vargas-Brook fight. When he saw the Eubank Jr-GGG fight negotiations taking a turn for the worse he inserted Kell. He wasn't going to lose the Eubank Jr-GGG fight and turn around and not make money on the Vargas-Brook fight.

            Baffling statment.

Can get paid vs anyone? How much did he get paid for his last 3 fights?

Brook is not earning anywhere near 4 million against anyone else except Khan.

Although Brook is champion and good even here in the uk he's not that well known outside of boxing circles and not PPV although with GGG. will be.
Against Vargas which would have to have been ppv figures would not have been good , even less people know Vargas and only one decent pay check could come out of such a pot.I don't buy any of the crap about Brook being afraid of this fight it's all about money and why should Brook take less than a fighter who's hardly known in his own town as champion. In money terms GGG. makes all the sense .

Brook just wants a payday hence the khan obsession.

Hearn knows Brook can only make money off khan and won't invest in him anything like aj, hence the khan obsession.

After all the comments of accusing khan for taking the Canelo fight he literally copies him.

Everything they do is in Khan's shadow, and that will include gktfo.

Vargas agreed with Top Rank, not with Hearn.

Also, if he didn't do it for the money himself, he would have accepted the offer which would have still been more than triple his best ever payday. but he didn't

Nobody's speaking about Khan except for Khanturds.

                    He's totally irrelevant
