GGG punishes his opponents, he fights to their level, he's not looking to take their head off in round 1.

I rather get knocked out cold in round 1 then get toyed with for 6 - 8 rounds and then eventually stopped.

GGG is a sadistic individual unlike Canelo.

Brook was better off facing Canelo because he would more than likley get knocked out, but he wouldnt have got seriously beat up
Brook would have done Canelo easily. Showed Khan the difference in levels.

Who has Canelo KO'd in one round? Look at Khan's ribs in that famous picture of him, laying there. It takes a Sadistic type to tenderize ribs like that.

    They fear GGG. So:

    1) The WBA should dissolve the regular MW belt and tell Jacobs to fight someone to become #1 contender. Otherwise, get lost.

    2) The WBO should make Golovkin its #1 MW contender. If Saunders still has the belt, then he has to fight or vacate in shame like Canelo; if Canelo has it by then, well.... he might become the only fighter ever to drop two belts to the same man.

    3) The IBF should rationalize its rankings and declare a solid #1 contender; if this guy is unable to fight, wait for him (if he wants it). Don't force a lame mandatory.

    4) Matchroom must encourage Eubank Jr. to help them make the fight. Meanwhile, get him more experience against a MW in America. Jacobs?

    5) K2 should tell Lara to fight a MW, be spectacular, then submit a non-Twitter offer via Al Haymon.

    6) K2 should begin seriously considering the 168 landscape.

    I'm fantasizing....

Well damn, Brook saying his natural weight is 160 and that he has to really drain down to make 147.

Yes, you're right. This isn't a one-time weight jump for Brook. He's a massive WW most def. He'll come back down to jMW after this fight.

I get the impression that Saunders is not as well known among the Brit public as either Eubank or Brook. Hearn puts on the bigger shows compared to Warren and I'm guessing there's just not enough money to keep Saunders -4 million GBP - and Golovkin happy. So assuming GGG beats Brook convincingly then his star will shine brighter in the UK and maybe they can make the Saunders fight then.

As mentioned by others, this is purely a business event, made to salvage a planned promotion that went sideways.

Hey man I agree. There was more money on this table than there was for Vargas.

This is nothing but sparring for GGG, he could take out Brook in 1 round, if he wanted.

But GGG will entertain his fans and carry Brook for as long as Brook can take the punishment.

GGG doesnt have explosive power like Canelo, but he has heavy hands that drain your energy and slowly break you down.

Canelo wants to take your head off....GGG wants to punish you
Canelo has a ton of "explosive power" when he fights glass jaw guys like Khan and Kirkland. What happens when he fights someone like Cotto, Lara, or anyone else? Nothing, that's what... His power is average unless he fights guys way way smaller or glass jaws like the other two mentioned.
