Hard fight as it is for Brook but giving away 5 inches in reach??? To a guy who uses time and distance very well is a monster of a issue, no smaller man is ever gonna cause GGG any probs, i was interested to see GGG V chavez jnr due to the size advantage chavez would have had, but that never happened.
Brook Canelo at 154 would have been much more intriguing. First 3 rounds Kells gonna try and make it a fight, but there after GGG breaks him down with his consistancy to get mid to late round stoppage... 6-8 Round

I could maybe understand this fight if Brook had cleaned up at his own weight division, but he ain't. He's in the best division in boxing and apart from Porter he's fought nobody! Garcia and Thurman is who he should be fighting.

Although i respect Brook's bravery, there is something really dumb about this move.

This is a throwback fighter. Brook has confidence when people doubted brook. Shame Floyd didn't want to prove people wrong the way brook is doing.
Floyd made his name off of little dudes like jmm and PAC, that was a challenge to Floyd. And he didn't fight PAC when PAC was wrecking machine, he fought PAC after losses to jmm and Bradley.

Brook is moving up 2 divisions against wrecking machine, it needs perspective just hoiw big achievement it is if he wins. I'd expect brook to do well and not disgrace himself everyday. But to win not many would expect that

So Brook calls out Trip at a catchweight, gets told no. Hearn throws a wad of cash at him for 160 and he says yes and NOW he is a throw back fighter with major balls? No...he is just using common sense. He is making 3 fights worth of money in a fight he is supposed to lose! That's a no brainer.

Oh and you wanna know why Trips hardcore fans are giddy and hypocritical right now? Trip gets UK exposure without any risk. He will go over there, smile, kiss babies, and say he is real champion, beat up a blown up welterweight with no experience in the ring with guys at 160, then call out Saunders for the belt.

Why do people keep bringing up Leonard, Duran, and Hearns? All three of those fighters had moved on from welterweight before fighting Hagler. All three had won titles in divisions above welterweight before fighting Hagler. They did not jump straight from welterweight to fight him.

                    The comparison is just wrong.

I agree. Giving up any reach to Golovkin will make it massively difficult for Brook as GGG uses his footwork and distance incredibly well. Having said that, it isn't 5 inches. Brook won't be much smaller than GGG in reality, BoxRec stats are:

                      BROOK
                      Height: 5′ 9″ / 175cm
                      Reach: 69″ / 175cm

                      GOLOVKIN
                      Height: 5′ 10½″ / 179cm
                      Reach: 70″ / 178cm

Not much different really, but it's GGG's ability to cut the ring so effectively and the damage that he inflicts when he has you cornered that is going to cause Brook the most problems. I'd be surprised if this went past 6.

I too would love to see Brook and Canelo at 154, great fight!
