Haven't watched the fight. A buddy told me this was as bad as he's seen Kovalev in awhile. I'll watch it if I'm awake when the replay airs. I don't think there's any reason for alarm in the Kovalev camp. These kinda fights are tough. One tune-up before a big fight is tough enough to be 100% focused for. A second is asking a lot. And considering he was fighting at home. Its not totally shocking that he less than impressed. He'll be better for Ward.

He is likely comparing the fact that they both have good movement, have good defense, slip punches well, etc. He said they were similar, not that they were the same in terms of talent. I'm sure he damn knows Ward is a much better, much tough fight.
