If ward wants to unify with Stevenson than good luck with that. I have no reason to think Haymon/Stevenson will make that happen.

I have no doubt Ward would fight him, Ward has demanded a lot of easy fights in the last few years, but he's no coward, he's fought just about everyone he really had to.

there are a lot of dark politics people may not focus on, but there's a way better chance of Stevenson fighting Ward than Kovalev, aside from the fact that Duva ditched on the purse bid. It would be tragic if Stevenson lost to Kova after his "chimp" antics and justifying it in the current world. He would rather give Ward the opportunity as part of those reasons. lots of pride, people don't see the bigger picture

      • I respect him for unifying the division or at least trying to. Man, it's like pulling teeth these days. WBA, WBO, IBF, WBC. Back in the early to mid-80s all you had was WBC and WBA(one version). Even in the 90s, the three weren't crazy impossible, but four now? And if you count the RING title as well. I don't think anyone has actually done that- all four and the RING, except for maybe Hopkins. I know he had all four at one time but not sure if he had the RING at the time. I commend him for doing it. Hopefully he can pick them all up by next year. It would be nice to hear, Introducing the Undefeated, Undisputed Middleweight Champion of the World..." It will be like the days of Mike Tyson's first heavyweight run.

Stevenson ran to an entire new network to get away fighting kov.

The same way Chavez did to get away from fighting GGG.

To think Stevenson/Haymon is suddenly going to work with Ward/RNS....

          Yeah I doubt that.

cmon man... surely on NSB people learn a thing or two about a thing or two...

Chavez never fought GGG because Arum pulled a Mikey Garcia on him to extend that contract.

let's just wait and see what happens.

not sure how he expects to accomplish this.

He needs to fight 1 guy, Saunders..... and guess what, Loeffler got caught lying about the purse.

              I don't believe any of that ****.

If you pay those guys, they will fight him..... for the money, and the shine.

K2 are tight-as-fk, and are notoriously difficult to deal with.

              Ask any Klitschko opponent.

Hell, ask Cotto and Canelo !!

Get this..... Team Bull**** dictated to the SUPERSTARS Cotto and Canelo.

And they have not just failed to secure Saunders, they have never landed a meaningful fight EVER!

Enough with the bull****..... they could have fought Mora/Ward/Lara/Canelo, DEFINITELY!..... and possibly Cotto, and most likely Jacobs/Saunders as well.

After talking all that smack for FOUR YEARS about 154..... how could Golovkin possibly walk away from the TWO BIGGEST PAYDAYS available in the sport by refusing to negotiate on the weight with 153lb Cotto and 155lb Canelo?

And btw, hanging around a DEAD middleweight division for Saunders is absurd..... there is no drive for genuine greatness from that team..... they just want to lame their way to Hopkins record, without having to take any risks.

Top rank offered him a ridiculous payday, bigger than any payday he's ever seen, and offered him a 2nd guaranteed huge payday!

All promoters and managers do this. Why do you think no one could fight Floyd unless they signed a contract with Haymon/golden boy.

This is normal, it's called an investment.

generalizations without details on NSB is a common practice.

                    It is Billy-Joe Saunders.

I like BJS, he is a good fighter and great for the sport, but come on.

When a middleweight provides this excuse as justification for selecting a welter..... "he is the best available opponent"..... then it is time to move up by your OWN admission.

If Golovkin was even close to matching his hype, this is what he would be doing.....

I used to agree with you, but not after they selected Brook.

Well, man, I may be in the same camp with you, now. At first, I thought that well, Golovkin is getting a name- sure a WW name, but still a name who is 36-0 and a champion with a win over Porter, who I respect and had beating Thurman.

However, given the situation and the fact that Golovkin, while he does fight low, is still a natural middleweight with bone-breaking power who can move up and is of course, 34 years old, I have changed my mind.

This is fight is pretty pointless. Golovkin is pound for pound one of the best right now. I do believe that. However, no one doubts him crushing Brook. Boxing is boxing and anything can happen, but no. This is very long odds fight, where I only see Golovkin knocking him out.

If he were to fight anybody at 168, the result is not so certain and his stock goes up. it is all about risk and taking chances for sure. My favorites of all time like Duran and Hearns, damn sure took plenty of risks. So, yes. This fight is a waste of time. I'm a GGG fan to the end, but this is pointless. This is a rare time when NSB has swayed me. Cong****. Haha.
