Leonard vs. Hagler, what's your rebuttal about this friend? #1 Welterweight vs. #1 Middleweight.
I'd prefer him to clean out 147, establish himself as a legitimate pound for pound superstar and THEN take risks like this. Mosley was the man at lightweight for a number of years.

And let's see....Benitez, Duran, Hearns vs....Porter...Dan...Bizier......yea not quite. And Leonard had won a 154 title before fighting Hagler.

I am a GGG fan, but this is a shyte fight tbh.. Not because Brook isn't a good fighter, its because he isn't credible.. IF Brook was the unified champ at WW, proven & tested, it would have made some sense, but he isn't..
People complain about no opponents will face GGG, though it is true to a certain extent I blame K2 more than anyone in securing the fights by paying big money.. Some fighters demand more than they are worth but K2 has to bite the bullet sometime & either go 50/50 or take a pay cut for that lucrative fight i.e, BJS.. Now, Mr.Lara - I don't really think there is much push from his team to make the fight except the twitter baits for GGG haters & I would have probably been fine with Lara or Eubank Jr. as the options for Sep.

So if GGG wins, what has he gained?? Resume? - No, Credibility ? - No, Money - Yes. I wouldn't have minded another mandatory to stay busy for Sep than fighting a guy 2 divisions below you.. We all know how this is going to go down if Brook loses.. He showed guts moving up, took the guy nobody wanted to face & lost.. Brook gets money, gets KO'ed goes back to 147 with his IBF belt intact & fights Jo Jo Dans the next 2 fights until Spence becomes his mandatory..

So would have preferred Brook win Jr. Welterweight title 6 years before fighting GGG without having been back to weight class since winning title and defend it 0 times?

#1 Middleweight vs #1 Welterweight. No Jr. Weight bull****.

It's a solid win over a name opponent if he wins which I definitely think he will. He's just too good overall and once he lands, I don't see Brook holding up long. I would have preferred Eubank, Saunders, Jacobs or a whole slew of middleweight fight him, but well, that doesn't seem to be possible I guess. It's a fight where Golovkin is heavily favored, but Brook is a borderline welterweight who could easily be a junior middleweight. This one could be more competitive than many think, including myself. I expect a wash, but this is boxing. So you never know. Golovkin is going into his backyard in London as well. Plus, they are both names among boxing fans and whenever you get Name vs. Name, it's more interesting, just like Canelo vs. Khan. The hate will reign in on this one, but I can't say it doesn't intrigue me and yes. Golvkin's stock goes up after IMO.

When I created the poll I had no idea it would be so 1-sided. Aside from the usual suspects (guys who could watch Golovkin **** an old lady and figure out a way to put a positive spin on it) no one thinks this is a good win.

I started out completely open minded but the points made here are just too sound too deny. A significantly smaller guy with 1 win and no momentum.

Big respect to those Golovkin fans who answered honestly. Something I always push for around here is for people to be more honest about the fighters they support.

Edit: Them only thing this fight does is to quiet the people who claim that Brook wont fight anyone with a pulse.
That's another interesting angle. Brook should be the one getting credit here but many said Khan was just an idiot, so what do those folks say about Brook?

Yes, this is the type of win he's needed on his resume.

So why you being the hater.

Dont act like one fight is good for you but another isnt, when both are the same.
