Because there's nobody else to fight.

And he'd get more respect in America beating Green than he would beating Kessler or Woods, wouldn't he?

I think Calzaghe wins by KO in the mid-rounds of an absolute slugfest...the fight Lacy-Calzaghe was supposed to be

They hardly even consider non-American fighters over there.

I like Calzaghe taking this fight. It will be exciting, although it's almost a foregone conclusion Calzaghe will prevail. I'll definitely tune in for this. You can knock Calzaghe all you want, but at least he's considering fighting the name fighters at SMW now like Green, Manfredo, and Lacy. They aren't p4p fighters, but they are names. Mayweather has been doing the same thing lately.

20-0, fights from time to time on Friday Night Fights. I saw him for the first time a couple weeks ago, Atlas and co, were hyping him up big time, but he got dropped and nearly stopped by a journeyman. He's got tools, tall, fast hands, good power..but judging from his last performance he's in big trouble if he takes this fight.

yeah, this is the wrong time for Green to step up against Calzone. Joe is a slapper but he has good skills and fast hands, green's never fought anybody like that before. i think this fight won't be pretty to watch, it'll be pretty one sided for Calzone, once Green sees the handspeed and the skills he'll just be into survival mode and calzone will UD him or maybe stop him late
