If Golovkin was bringing a spotlight to a fight with Eubank Jr the fight would be held in America. Even Eddie Hearn himself said it's unheard of for a champion to travel to the UK to defend his belt. While

Could GGG sell out the MGM and earn $3/4 million fighting Eubank Jr? No. If it weren't for Eubank Jr, GGG would be fighting Heiland at the Forum selling tickets for $30 while Heiland is making $400k. GGG needs to accept his role in this fight. Which is to shut up an show up to fight.

The last time I checked Golovkin had 4 belts, so yeah.. Golovkin has what Eubank Jr needs..

What other options does Eubank have apart from BJS, which anyways isn't happening now is it.. ?? & no, Dorans, Blackwells, Sullivans aren't world class if he wants to be relevant..

A fight should happen where it makes more sense financially.. In this case it is UK.. We all know GGG can fill out MSG/Forum but is not a PPV star.. Canelo is a big draw than GGG & people will travel for him.. And frankly except money he has nothing more to offer to GGG.. Its not a legacy fight for GGG.. A legacy fight for GGG is Ward, period.

Let's not make this thread into Canelo deserves 90x & GGG deserves 10x.. Khan does not deserve that much for getting the bulbs out of his system..
Canelo-GGG is the only fight that will make Canelo top dollars apart from Floyd & Cotto, both rematches will be a dull one sided affair & we know the what happened last time..
Pay the guy a reasonable amount & get it done with & move on..
Nobody cares about those belts but GGG and his fans. That's why Cotto and Canelo dropped them. If Eubank Jr wanted a belt he would've fought Danny Jacobs. Eubank Jr feels he's bigger than those belts. The belts were barely mentioned in making this fight. Eubank Sr talked about the money.

Canelo's last 5 fights have made top dollar and none of them involved GGG, not even on the undercard. He has an exclusive TV deal in Mexico and a deal with Tecate. All of his fights make big money. GGG has nothing to offer Canelo but praise from hardcore boxing fans that don't even buy GGG's fights.

yeah that was a cat move for a man, but smart move business wise..

Well then why din't he fight Jacobs for his paper title !!? & probably make same/more money fighting BJS(Wembley was discussed as the venue for the rematch fyi)..
Let's face the facts here, beating GGG gives him the major belts & the man at the division cap! This is Jr.'s legacy fight..

GGG gets $2m regardless unless he faces someone so bad even HBO won't pick it up

you should be praising him for agreeing to travel when financially he has no need to. if he had a more jacobs or BJS-like mentality then he probably would've just opted to face someone unexciting like heiland or johnson and called it a day

You're delusional. Canelo won't fight outside the U.S. because there is no need for him to. Just like there was no need for Floyd to fight outside of Vegas. You travel when you need money. Manny, Canelo, and Floyd would sell out stadiums anywhere in the world. They don't do it because there is no need to. They make more money fighting in the US. Canelo can fill up an 80,000 seat stadium in Mexico City. Pacquiao can fill up a 100,000 seat stadium in General Santos City. Floyd went to Russia and held a workout where people paid to come see him. Not a fight, a workout. It's levels to this.

Who would he be fighting if not for Eubank Jr? The guy has nothing going on. Eubank Jr saved him from a Heiland mandatory. Another fight people would be complaining about. You know how many $20 tickets they would have to sell to fill up the Forum again?

Jessie Vargas is getting paid 3 times his highest purse for travelling. You're telling me GGG is getting his standard purse which should tell you he doesn't have a leg to stand on in negotiations.

yet he would've still received more or less the same purse. i doubt he's seeing any of the sky box office or venue money with eubank demanding so much, probably just his K2 guarantee plus certain international rights, which he gets every time. so evidently he's not travelling for money, he's travelling in order to give us fans the best possible fight. as a brit myself i'm pretty grateful to get this opportunity to see him fight in person

Because nobody cares about those belts. And Eubank Jr would've had to travel to the U.S. Jacobs isn't travelling. And if he does travel you better believe he'll bet getting paid a premium purse, worth more than he's ever make, like Vargas is getting paid for his travels. It's about money first and the trinkets are a bonus. Eubank vs Saunders was not selling Wembley. BJS couldn't even sell 10,000 tickets to his last fight against Lee. Saunders can't sell that's why he's coming here to fight on Canelo's undercard. Travelling is for B-sides.

Golovkin could sell out the MGM against anybody, but he wouldn't pull the PPV money that comes with a UK fight. GGG/Eubank will be on Sky PPV because it will be a world title fight between a UK fighter and Gennady Golovkin.

Chris Jnr was paid £50k for his last fight, FFS.
