Some of that was good match making but in the end he did fight a lot of very good names, but there is certainly a lack of great prime fighters on his resume.

The one thing which rubbed everyone the wrong way though was his reluctance to challenge himself, there was a resistance there to fight the fights people wanted to see when people wanted to see them. I think his insecurity as a person drove much of that behaviour. I wish he fought more fights when they were at their most dangerous. I think this is the main reason the boxing public never warmed to him.

In terms of this thread - its a non-starter as a debate, the two resumes are not comparable at all, Sugar Ray's at the top end is completely on another level, although I would say Floyd has more wins at championship level overall. His record is more dense, but ultimately you are judged by the best fighters you beat, and it doesn't really matter if you beat 50 pretty good fighters, its the real elite wins that people look at.
    floyd is a great fighter,

but his level of greatness is grossly overrated.

Duran would maul him. Ray Leonard would have him on the back foot the entire time. tommy? he's done for.

can you imagine any of those guys having to take 10 rounds to dispatch someone like ricky hatton?

can you imagine any of those guys going the distance vs andre berto? robet guerrero?

It's not really comparable. Especially when you compare the nature of the wins.
I would agree with most of your post, except when you say manny was the closest to a prime fighter.. Canelo, corrales, castillo, cotto, hatton, Maidana, where all in their prime or at very least the height of their career.. Also chavez and famoso were also at their peak when floyd beat them, and both would go one to win world titles down the road.. Those guys were much closer to prime than manny was... Not to discredit manny but wasn't the top 1 or 2 p4p like he had been,, more like a top 6 p4p guy

Let's just say that leonard beats Floyds top 4 opponents and Floyd gets beaten by at least 3 of leonards top 4 opponents.

Hes proven to be able to beat every single style there is, and not only did he prove it, he proved it against legit, elite, HOF, ATG level fighters. No other fighter can make that claim. Not a single one, besides SRL.

floyd only fights guys when they're way past it. interesting how floyd only pursued pac fight after pac was KO cold by marquez. interetsing how floyd only decided to fight cotto after he took career ending beatings against both margarito and pac. i could go on and on. floyd is a fraud and a drug cheat.

There are very, very, very few fighters with top wins that compare to what Leonard picked up. Mayweather is not one of them.

If you listed the top 4 wins between them, Leonard probably has them all.

Next let's compare their losses or draws.
SRL- Duran, Norris, Camacho, Hearns (D)
                    Mayweather- ...nada.

SRL would be undefeated too if he ducked and cherrypicked fights and roided up like Fraud Mayweather.
