Boxing still needs MAYWEATHER PACQUIAO. Its so boring right now...

I know its a transition period right now with the two main guys retiring but boxing is in bad shape right now....

NOBODY IS REGISTERING right now with the mainstream.

Its SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BORING ON NSB. It looks like the history section minus the great legacies.... smdh....

the sad part is, it doesnt have to be. We have compelling match ups to be made but they are not being made. GGG Canelo looks like its going by way of mayweather pacquiao time schedule, we have Ward vs Kovalev allegedly signed already but we have to see both fight other guys... Heavyweights finally have life but how close are Joshua, Wilder, Fury from fighting each other? Nobody wants to fight the middleweight champ, Canelo fighting in his own made up weight class vs no hopers... we got great fighters in the lower weights but will we ever see Rigo vs Chocalito? We getting Santa Cruz vs Frampton but what about Walter and Loma?

Is lightweight ever gonna make noise? what about 140? What happened to matthysse? Welterweight is hot right now so many names and the fans finally got a great fight vs two great notable young champs in Porter vs Thurman but we need more.

    The Sport Needs:

    Kell Brook vs Khan
    GGG vs Canelo
    Rigo vs Chocalito
    Crawford vs Broner
    Maidana vs any welterweight
    Pacquiao vs any welterweight
Floyd vs any none washed up welterweight
Cotto vs Marquez (yea i said it wanna see it)
    Joshua vs Fury
    Joshua vs Wilder
    Wlad vs Joshua
    Wlad vs Wilder
Rigo vs featherweights (yea you're big and good enough boxing god)
    Stevenson vs Kovalev
Stevenson the pimp vs Ward the bible boy
Malignaggi continuing to get beat up vs anybody
    Puerto rican vs mexicans
    blacks vs whites
    Brexits vs Murica
Yellows (come on china and India) vs Browns (u guys are doing great)
Arab/****** boxers to get in the game
Boxers to get in trouble with the law
Boxers to get in relationships with pop stars and kardashians
No more yusuf mack dog pounds doe....

We need somebody to blow up. Get their Q rating up. Register in the mainstream again. I mean, im finding it very hard to troll NSB.... come on!!!!

    SHOW ME SOMETHING!!!!
    SHOW ME!!!!!

Boxing is deeper than it has been in years. I think there's way more exciting fights to be made at the moment than there was when Mayweather and Pacquiao were fighting the past few years. Whether or not those fights get made is another story though.

Guerrero? Bradley Part XVI? Berto? Algieri? I'm glad those sham fights aren't alienating fans from the sport anymore.

boxing has always been deep. the problem has always been getting fights made.

there's room for those guys doe. they arent really good but they have been in with names which makes them a name.

boxing does a really poor job of promoting their fighters.

People are having a very hard time getting over Manny's loss with the entire world watching. If people really want to pretend it's 2009 forever (see spoon23) whatever, but the reality is that the sport has moved on.

most expected manny to lose. it wasnt really some big surprise.

boxing has always had a recognition problem. every decade its just a couple of boxers registering with the mainstream.

The problem with the young fights now is they expect the "Mayweather" treatment in cherrypicking fights and having huge purses thrown at them while forgetting the 15+ years Mayweather put into building himself up, fighting the best, and gaining both critical and mainstream recognition.

You've got guys demanding multi-million dollar purses from HBO and Showtime for the privilege of drawing 800k viewers after they've got a paper belt or two. They don't understand that fights need to make money for everyone involved or they won't happen in the future.

In regards to promoting fighters, you're totally correct. MMA is smart enough to use undercards to showcase their future stars. When guys like Lesnar, GSP, and Silva disappeared, there was a roster of new stars ready to take their places because fans had already been familiarized to them.

I think the biggest mistake in recent boxing was the Mayweather vs Pacquiao undercard. They had a chance to showcase potential stars in front of millions of viewers but instead they gave a barebone card to squeeze a few extra bucks out of the entire affair. Pathetic.

^^ Case in point. Ptards flooded boxing forums for 5 or so years. Now that their power has waned, it's causing all kinds of anger and confusion in their ranks.

that just one sliver of one boxer's fan's fanbase.

ptards dont really have power. just like flowmoes dont really have power.

im talking about the overall nature of the sport.

id like to think boxing is bigger than ptards....

this problem im talking about has been going on with boxing even before pacquiao was known.

the sport does a poor job of marketing its stars and semi stars.

actually the sport needs its old lions to fight the young lions.

they need pacquiao and mayweather to be fighting the garcias, thurmans, crawfords, spences of boxing.

not retiring by fighting berto and bradley while not giving the future of the division and sport a chance to shine and make money.
