I will be glad but very surprised if Haymon allows his top fighters to fight each other. Let alone a welterweight tournament. Thurman won't be fighting a top fighter in his next 2 to 3 fights. And gift Garcia ofc needs to be babysit well. Gift can fight Broner (if Haymon is ready to let go on AB's career), Judah, Berto, Guerrero or any a bit named fighters they think can be beaten by the gift.

I'd normally say that's true but if PBC is in as much trouble at some are indicating, Haymon may not have any choice but to push top matches now, rather than build up certain fighters.

Good. Keep asking anyway. I definitely don't approve of anybody holding a belt hostage

The titlist need to unify before picking off the contenders who should also be picking each other off and not doing an Amir Khan, should be some great fights going off here.

Thurman is good for the sport but he's sleeping on Swift...I guess he gotta die in his sleep like AK and Lucas did...no problem

That really says all we need to know about how Angel runs his sons career, and it's straight from the horses mouth.

If that isn't a reason to step away from Garcia then I don't know what is.
We'll have to wait and see Angel's reaction to Thurman's challenge. If he displays any hint of objecting to the fight, then it would effectively discourage his son from pursuing the fight. It's not hard to figure how demoralizing that would be if your own father thinks you can't win the fight.
