Comments Thread For: Hearn: Eubank Win Over Golovkin is Bigger Than Hatton-Tszyu

Golovkin vs. Eubank - According to Eddie Hearn, who promotes British middleweight champion Chris Eubank Jr. (23-1, 18KOs), a victory over WBC/IBO/WBA/IBF middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs) would be bigger than Ricky Hatton's huge victory over Hall of Famer Kostya Tszyu.

Agree with the headline, but on the rest of the quotes it's a bit much to say Golovkin is the best to ever fight here considering Robinson and Ali both did.

Not happening and ANYONE (and it will be some twit Brit) that will say Eubanks is even mild competition for GGG is out of their FN minds. If they say that they are imbeciles. Completely.

Idk, Ricky Hatton was pretty freaking popular before Tszyu. Wasn't he selling out MEN arena already? But this is going to be a major fight, for Golovkin it'll be even bigger than the Lemieux fight which sold out MSG. Hearn's already pumping it up, the UK media tour should be interesting, hopefully HBO pumps it up on the US side.

Can't agree, considering that Tszyu had beaten top level opposition and had massive 1 punch knockout power (golovkin has great power, but a thudding puncher rather than concussive imo). Golovkin has no great names, actually Eubank lost to his best name, but he (Saunders) is also better than anyone golovkin has faced too.

Was thinking the same thing. But you can't expect Mr Silver Spoon to really know his boxing history.
