I think you guys are being to tough on Kirkland. Based on the rumors, Ann Wolfe training methods are overly brutal. One part of Kirkland probably doesn't want to go through that every single camp. At 32 the body isnt the same and i honestly think the Kirkland/Wolfe relationship is over blown. You can't train a good chin and don't see the outcome changing for his two losses.

I admit the training camp probably helped in the Angulo fight.

Overly brutal? I'll tell you what's overly brutal. Canelo KO'ing Kirkland in the 3rd round while knocking him down 3 times. That's overly brutal.

Anne Wolf's training is what's gotten him that title shot against Canelo and one of the more feared fighters in the division in his prime when he's with her.

Great he needs Anne Wolfe ...he is UNDEFEATED under Anne Wolfe... His two losses were without Anne Wolfe... His punch resistance sucks without Anne Wolfe.. She makes him fight bigger men in camp with more power ...James used to be a helluva boxer before he became this super slow slugger....he started his career at welterweight and his hand speed was top notch...he got incarcerated and basically threw all his fundamentals out the window...hooked up with Wolfe to hone his aggressive nature then got incarcerated again which slowed him down even more...fought ishida with no Anne Wolfe training and got drugged by a pillow fisted fighter...against canelo his punches looked weak and telegraphed and his chin was non existing... I see a hungry man with financial problems coming back to cause these jmw hell...

You think training with Wolfe would have change the outcome of that fight. I think he would went through r a brutal training camp with Wolfe and then get laid out cold in 3 either way.

He showed a lot of heart against Canelo. He was beaten up in the 1st round but came back to hurt Canelo in the 2nd. He was knocked out cold, no amount of heart was going to change that.
