But are his opponents worse than Ward?

I've never seen a fighter stay actively on p4p lists, especially at number one, for 4 years and not fight a single top level opponents. I'm not asking him to fight atgs, just good opponents.

his best win is Barrera...and he went 12 with him.

GGG has not only fought better opponents but showed he is far above them. That's all a top fighter ,especially one who is considered p4p can do.

BTW, dunno why you labeling me a GGG fan has to do with anything. I have routinely called him out for fighting the likes of Wade or NSB favourite a couple years back, Stevens. People were talking about it like some titanic match up between 2 power punchers. I was one of the few who called bull**** on that fight.

however, the fact that most of you defending Ward can only bring up GGG says something about your mentality.

I love comments like these...hilarious from my end because I'm not black...hahahahaha!

I didn't say you were...although even if you were you could say you're not.

I'm just saying, most of his fans are either American or black or both.

So, let's get back to the question at hand. Do you have an answer or not?

I already answered I said no...obvious question but really this whole thread stems from the fact as others posted you are a GGG fan and hate Ward for checking him.

              Try again.

Edit: Plus, GGG has only been a p4p entrant for less than half the time Ward has been.
              Those guys suck.

Ward is younger than GGG ..had the balls to move up...and has a better resume...

GGG does not have to meet the same expectations.

The bars seems to be set lower for non-US fighters.

                So that's your issue...

                What are you???

                Don't be ashamed...I bet you're of Pa.kistani origin.

If you have a problem with Black guys please take that Brother off your siggy...at least be consistent.

ward's last 4 years have been prospect level opposition.

Personally I would not have him anywhere near a p4p top 10 but I know many of you would so which other p4p entrant, over a span of 4 years, fought bums?
I have to disagree with your sentiment that Ward shouldn't be 'anywhere near' the top 10 pound for pound.

In Ward's case, it's true he is still riding on the goodwill he gained winning the super six, as well as his destruction of Chad Dawson. Combine this with his amateur pedigree and....

While it's true that he hasn't fought anybody of note in nearly four years, P4P rankings are about as subjective as they get in boxing. Also keep in mind that most respected sources do not have Ward as No. 1 P4P, and they haven't for quite some time. When you have the past resume that Ward has, even if you are fighting outside contender types, you're allowed to still be on the lists because nothing in his recent performances has suggested he isn't the fighter that he was in the Super Six/Chad fights.

Now that isn't to say that much can be gained for those recent performances, he's done what he was expected to do against that level of opposition.

I personally like to think of P4P lists as who would have the most favorable odds on average in fights near or around their weight class against various opponents. From this perspective, Ward is most definitely 'deserving' of being on P4P lists. Besides Kovalev, who at 168-175 would you currently pick to beat Ward?

I think someone mentioned RJJ as another example of this type of ranking, and while I don't fully recall the ins and outs of his P4P timeline, I do know he went through stretches of fighting no-hopers and was still highly thought of.

Funny how the root of most unreasonable criticism really comes down to racial BS.

Most of his haters are white or wish they were..
Pretty sad if true because whether they like it or not Ward is half white.
