They probable thought it was too low to be detected. Not Wilder fault however fight should go on with Povetkin having to give up more of his purse to Wilder and say $100K fine by WBC and get the fight back on.
Why would you care how long a legal drug stays in your system though ?

If he did only take it in 2015 then he had no way of knowing it would be banned in 2016 so wouldn't have bothered to see how long it lasts.

Besides its an obscure Latvian drug and no real testing has been don't on how long it is detectable for so he couldn't have found that out even if he wanted to.

You know, the same blood tests that Pacquiao was ducking for years. A rational person would pospone the fight pending an investigation, just like the wbc has done, but only for procedural purposes because really, the writting is already on the wall.

What you are describing are not the thoughts and actions of a 'rational' person, they are those of a 'russian' person.
Plenty of substances show up in urine and not blood.

VADA did the tests on behalf of WADA.

I think the way it works is, VADA took the samples, analysed them and submitted the results to WADA and the WBC.

Poor guy... didn't even read the WADA document right? it states twice that Meldonium excretion rate is unknown.

Why is he taking it again?

There's an investigation to determine whether he took it again or if those were traces from last year usage.

So are most of these PED athletes get caught with, once they ban something they just find something else that is not on the list but it's still cheating and they knew it at the time.
