its almost as if its some point of pride that they dont speak english.

as if they are being "pochos" not real mexican or selling out if they speak english.

i mean you living right next to america. best learn english.
tbh man, Canelo seems like an arrogant jerk. I really cant stand him, I only back him up for arguments sake against the diehard GGG fans but I dont care for him at all, I think theres a lot of better Mexicans out there than him that could become better stars. And with that said, I do see some guys like Zurdo and Marquez that really try to speak English, and Oscar Valdez speaks perfect English. I think its more of the fighters from Mexico that are handed things on a silver platter like Canelo that get a chip on their shoulder and think they dont have to appeal to any other fanbase. The ones that dont, have to work harder at things and humble themselves.

What would be cool though is if you got an American black or white guy that learned Spanish to appeal to Latinos instead of guys just claiming to fight "Mexican Style". Latinos by far still hold the largest fanbase in boxing so itd be who of an American to learn Spanish to become a star.

that's a great point. i really appreciate athletes who make an effort to speak another language but the money isnt the same. there no boxing ppvs in latin america.

america is the international country and where you make a name for yourself.
