It's annoying how the hype train affects the stock of good fighters. Porters was an unstoppable beast after Malinaggi and now it's settled down to an accurate reflection of his skill/talent. Then Maidana was a beast after Broner and the lead up to mayweather and now he's all but forgotten and thought of as a limited brawler.

Thing is, if Maidana was still active he'd probably be a top 5 welterweight. He'd be likely to beat collazo, Khan (I think he'd fare better this time), Guerrero, and maybe even Thurman due to a style clash. Thurman leaves his chin out and throws his body into his opponent's shots. Maidana is awkward, hard to time and throws those overhand rights and looping hooks that could connect.
