    Cleto Reyes gloves

Picked up a pair today of 14 oz velcro strap ones for training only. I weigh 151 pounds 5'8

Did I do good? Or should I have gotten 12 oz? Or maybe even 16 oz?

Pads & bags they're fine but they aren't ideal for sparring. A 14oz punchers glove isn't going to offer your sparring partner much protection.

Thank you. I will be using them for only for training, no sparring. I was just wondering because someone told me that I should have picked up 12 oz instead of 14, but provided no reason. Before, I was using 14 oz everlast gloves so this is my first "upgrade"

14oz will be fine though 16s would be better especially with it being a punchers glove, you want maximum protection for your hands & wrists.
Will also make a competition glove feel light as a feather.

Still, a great upgrade. Everlast make some terrible equipment even the more high end stuff. Its kids equipment really that offers no real protection and wears out very quickly due to cheap materials.
