I never said they should've taken the offer. I said they should've made a counter offer. I've said that since day one. That ship has sailed. Ward is fighting Kovalev on PPV for the P4P title and GGG is hoping to be the B-side to Eubank in the UK. You gotta take advantage of opportunities to be great when you have the chance. Can't put all your eggs in one basket.

They werent looking for another years commitment, having already a far bigger fight in the pipeline, with a possibility of droppig down to a CW. Ward also needed to do something to rebuild himself, gain some momentum and one year later he's fought Barrera to Kovalev type ratings

From all accounts...K2 is making shi.tty offers to those guys that are accused of running.
          So how much is enough?

No matter what the excuses, people have been avoiding him. Martinez flat out ducked him and Lou Dibella admitted it publicly. Cotto wanted none of him and neither does Alvarez without the "marinating" which is BS. Saunders, Jacobs and Eubank have talked but all have also backed down and went back on their words. And why does Eubank get big money already? The son of a "legend" is not usually another legend.

Welp. GGG is the A-side. Like you said, Kovalev and Ward are two fighters who aren't as known as GGG. Nobody attends Kovalev shows in Vegas and Ward can barely sell out his hometown. No way in hell they get 150,000 PPVs........I guess these two fighters just want to be great.

I just don't think it's smart to reject an offer without making a counter and putting all your eggs in one basket. We see the results. Ward went for the sure thing and he's fighting Kovalev in Vegas on PPV for the number 1 P4P. And GGG is making one year away deals with Zurdo while praying for Eubank so save him from another horrible mandatory

                From 12 hours ago

Chris Eubank Jr and his promoter Eddie Hearn will hold a crunch meeting on Monday over a fight with Gennady Golovkin.

The British middleweight champion, who made a first defence with a four-round stoppage win over Tom Doran on Saturday, insists he wants to face the world middleweight No.1 next but needs the backing of UK broadcaster Sky Sports for it to happen in London in September.

"If it's the right deal it could happen in September. Wembley is where we would like to stage it, or the O2," said Hearn.

"No one is queuing up to fight Glolovkin. Canelo [Saul Alvarez] has lost face, Billy Joe Saunders didn't want it. There seems to be only one world class fighter who is a big enough name who's prepared to fight him."

Kazakhstan's WBA-IBF world champion Golovkin (35-0, 32 KOs), 34, is looking for an opponent after a fight with Mexican Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez was shelved until next year.

Chris Eubank Sr, the former world middleweight and super-middleweight champion who guides his son's career, said: "If this fight doesn't happen it's because of Sky."

But Eubank Jr (23-1, 18 KOs), 26, is remaining hopeful it can happen after Saturday's comfortable win over Doran.

"This is just the start of my training camp for Golovkin," Eubank Jr said. "Tom Doran is not Golovkin. Everything I'm doing needs to be upped. You can't go into that fight unless you are 100 percent, and I was only 50 percent for Doran.

"The only way to beat someone like Golovkin is to do unconventional things. I've got some nice tricks up my sleeve for him.

No he didnt duck. Sr put the hammer down to Sky and Hearn. He gave them 48 hours to make the fight. He played it brilliantly too. He's built the fight up by mentioning GGG's name. He had Hearn draft the contract up and present them to K2. GGG and Loeffler are talking about the fight. Then Sr gave Sky a 48 hr ultimatum to make the fight on his terms. It's risky and Hearn looked pissed. But if he can pull this off GGG needs to sign a contract with Sr.

He said froch was fine at 68, but not Ward. Duck Duck

I don't see any other opportunities for those 2 guys, look at who they fought last or next. No big weight concession by either, they're about same weight fight night.

Ggg has tripled his belt count since, made boxings #1 star into a laughing stock, and become the most talked about guy in boxing. Don't cry crocodile tears for him
