It's pretty good for PBC standards. Canelo did over 2 million views on regular HBO last year, I'm sure he would get over 5 millions on "Free TV" against a no name opponent.

Canelo averaged 2M for 10 minutes. This is a 2.5-hour telecast including 2 fights, commercials, pre-fight, post-fight, etc.

While boxing obviously fell off, you're talking about the greatest sportsman of all time fighting in a time without cable TV, no internet, no streaming, no DVR, etc. People actually watched TV back then, it's a different world in 2016.

I'm not going to lie. It was electrifying. I expected a clinch fest due to Porter's style. Thurman avoided it and gave fans what they wanted to see in a fight. Kudos to both.

Quality boxing will always outperform MMA/UFC. I know these numbers are on par with UFC on FOX but it just goes to show that quality boxing can surpass UFC/MMA. If boxing had 2 quality cards a month on network TV the ratings would dwarf MMA/UFC. I still believe in boxing. And I'm glad others believe in it enough to invest in it.

They need to realize that they need to do more of this than the other fights.
This didn't even come close to their initial numbers, but the first few shows, they pushed the hell out of it.
I heard local ads on the radio, talkshows on the radio talking about it, ads everywhere online... if you haven't noticed, that's diminished quite a bit since last year.
