I totally agree but at the end of the day, who the **** cares. Floyd is retired and we should all just appreciate this current era of fighters.

It's not about who rocked who. It doesn't matter. TBE won both fights.

What matters is, Berto THREW PUNCHES the entire fight. He tried. Manny threw punches in two rounds. Beyond that? No effort.

Mayweather actually had to exert effort - even slipping on one occasion - to keep Berto off him. Manny? Floyd chilled in the cut and countered him across 8 rounds, barely even trying, to the point the commentary wondered what was wrong with Manny.

Where was the Pacquiao we saw against Bradley? He didn't show up and he made Mayweather look like a straight up boxing god.

Exactly. It's like watching Mayweather vs Guerrero or Baldomir and saying "Damn, watching Floyd unable to stage an offensive attack and close the show makes me miss Roy Jones Jr. and Sugar Ray Leonard."

Every fighter is different, develops his own style and will utilize his skills to become great in his own era. There's no right or wrong way to fight.

New Floyd fans just have the mentality that only what Floyd does can be considered skillful.

Part that's ****ed up is the inability to appreciate the skills boxer of a lower level put into play. I thought that Thurman was pretty effective with catching Porter on the way in and between exchanges (even those he lost). Porter surprised me; I regarded him as an unskilled brute but he was able to effectively neutralise Thurman's jab with his own, close the distance, and put in some good body work.

Fight was entertaining. It goes to show you that the biggest problem with boxing isn't the quality of opponents but how they are matched. You had two equals in the ring and it produced a competitive and entertaining fight.
Fair enough. I appreciate your opinion.

Just that I prefer a chess match over checkers.

Do you feel the right guy won the decision?

This is a pretty ****** statement.

Just wanted to point that out.

The right way to fight is to be 49-0. The greatest defensive fighter of all time.

Plus, Floyd is arguably the most skilled fighter ever so it's not really fair to hold people to that standard.

Come back and post the number of times Floyd jabbed to the body so I know you watched the fight.

Pay attention to the way Floyd takes steps and where he positions his lead foot compared to his opponent (superior footwork) as he dictates distance.

                    Then rewatch porter vs thurman.

****ing newb. Don't make excuses for thurman shirty skill level. 69 vs 69 reach. Foh
It was entertaining, but I was hoping to see a bit more in skills. But, they are both getting better so I am glad to see their fights.

Thurman and Porter come to fight.

                      Mayweather comes to run.

It should be pretty obvious why fans appreciate fights like this and not the borefests that rob them of their money.
