If anyone should have retired then it's Marquez. Way to capitalize on a legendary win, lose to Bradley and beat washed up Alvarado, still no belt #5. Shoulda retired, or fought Pac for huge money and a welter belt
Manny Pacquiao should have retired at the end of 2011.

So he evades JMM and Floyd taking his soul?A five weight world champion.
On a fifteen fight winning streak, including wins over Erik Morales, Marco Antonio Barrera, Juan Manuel Marquez, Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Miguel Cotto, Antonio Margarito and Shane Mosley.
Only three defeats.
The debate who would have won between himself and Floyd Mayweather, Jr. left open for eternity.
A record of 54-3-2 (38 KO).
From this point on Pacquiao lost his young Tyson-like aura and began to tarnish his legacy. It must be very hard to live with for his fans that he was vanquished by Mayweather after such a long-standing debate.
It is interesting to note that this was also the point that "strength and conditioning" coach Alex Ariza left his team. Would things have been different if he'd stayed?
Either way he should have retired here.

At that point he was in his early 30's so of course he woudn't be the beast he was when he was younger and by the time floyd agreed they were almost 40.
Your hate for pac is obvious why stop at 5 weight classes when he now has 8 weight classes and 5 lineal titles in 5 weight classes both are unprecedented.Comment

All we are left with is excuses from PAC, and tears from t@rds!
PAC cries pretty good too. Post Marquez 4, he and Jinkee were filmed in the Philippines both happy PAC was still alive. They cried and I laughed, Jhonny too.Comment

Pacquiao's a fighter. He took risks; sometimes he won, sometimes he lost. He seemed to take both in stride, even though he did express when he believed he won fights but lost decisions. And for the record, that loss to Mayweather was anything but a "vanquishing".Comment

They ripped the life out of him. JMM really crushed him good. That image of face planted PAC is iconic. Floyd schooled him.
I guess having short arms, no plan B, and the memories of his near death experience with JMM, took a lot out of him. Ariza shakes were needed too!
Ariza took all Manny's magic when he left. He lost his KO power.
All PAC had left, excuses. Shoulder, tight socks, speaking to the lord in dreams, and anti LGBT statements. Many of his fans are LGBT, but..... nuff said.
You know PAC has an under 60% KO ration, it goes over 60 % if you factor in the times PAC himself was knocked out. Marquez has a better KO record.Last edited by Zaroku; 06-28-2016, 08:44 AM.Comment
