This fight lived up to the hype. Great fight. Neither should be ashamed. And on free TV. Gotta love it. PBC/ShowTime did their thing tonight.

Watched all the fights, excited to see how things shape out.

I agree. He mugged him all night. Thurman thru one or two good shots per round, but got hit and beat up the rest of the time. Bad decision.

Anybody saying Porter won should learn how to score a boxing match. Thurman all day bring on Garcia.

I had it 6-6, personally. I thought Porter gave away the championship rounds, so I have no problem with them giving Thurman the close decision. You've gotta take the belt from the champion. Porter's post fight reaction was telling also.

Keith said the best thing about Porter, that he just comes in ramming. That's fine, but if you're not throwing effective haymakers in the process ala Tyson then Porter should at least watch a bit of Ruslan's tapes on maintaining distance when timing a charge. Other than that Porter's not really boxing.

Clean effective punching wins fights. Porter's majority of punches were smothered and lacked ring generalship. Just because you throw more punches doesn't mean you win. Porter needed the ropes to accumulate his punch stats. Agree w/ decision.

Of the two FOTY candidates, Vargas-Salido and Thurman-Porter, this one was far superior. I prefer wars where there is some skill and power on display, rather than two brawlers just slugging away in the center of the ring without much skill, elusiveness or power on display.

If you didn't appreciate what Porter and Thurman just did then you're probably not a boxing fan.

Great fight just what we needed and for free doesn't get better than that good looking out PBC...Judges called it fair I had it the scored the same.. the last 3 rounds were Thurman and the he was able to land the better blows...to be honest porter needs to clean up his style just a bit it makes the fight fun to watcb but it doesnt work with the jidges he's too wild and not much can be scored from that I believe smuthering and holding and head locking a lot from him tonight...
